Oilers easy path to the finals is a myth. They beat Vancouver who finished ahead of them in their own division and they beat the Stars who seemed like the most popular pick for the cup this year.

Saying they had an easy path comes off as sour grapes.

Florida handled the Atlantic with no problem. It was weaker than usual this year with the two other powerhouses in transition and the rest still blah.

Atlantic has made 6 straight cup finals. It is not a weak division. Been easily the most consistent division for the past half decade. Just funny seeing people draw conclusions after 1 game.

I hope the Panthers keep their cool and not retaliate. The Oilers can't get on the scoreboard, so they have to resort to cheap shots and diving (no surprise there).

Weren't many people here thinking and hoping that Tkachuk and Bennett were going to cheapshot McDavid and Draisaitl out of the series?

Panthers have their eyes on the prize. They're not running around like last year's SCF. They're a disciplined side, I don't expect anyone to do anything stupid as retribution and feed EDM powerplays. Oilers clearly can't hang 5v5. Florida will grind out two more wins.

And at worst, Draisaitl will be fined, no way the league will remove him from this series.
