I didn’t think Campbell was that bad as he’s been in Edmonton but that poor defense did a number on his confidence
I really thought he was going to turn it around after his preseason he looked really good, but I mean the High Danger chances the oilers give up, I doubt George Vezina would help, odd man rushes, clear cut chances infront of the net, as there D looks lost. that game he played against minnesota he made atleast 5 10 bell saves alone in the second period.

With McDavid and Draisaitl refusing to even think about D in their game + the Oilers' subpar defensive squad, it's hard for either goalie.

I hope the Leafs don't do anything stupid like sign McDavid. No question a supremely talented athlete, but the last thing we need here is another entitled prima donna. He was embarrassing last night against the Canucks. If you throw cross checks, be prepared to take some cross checks back.

Moving Samsonov to the Oilers was is becoming more appealing.

Recall Jones…

Very risky to put it on Woll though. But Hildeby’s first few games are really encouraging.
Samsonov wasn't good enough to receive a qualifying offer from the team that drafted him with a 1st round pick, I see no reason why we should be hesitant to pull the chute and cut ties considering his performance and having a vet like Jones around to backup Woll.

I like Samsonov and thought he's more than serviceable if he's putting up a .910 sv% or so, but he's at .862 and has looked completely lost, which seems to happen to goalies all the time.
I doubt they cut bait this early but by all means they have to keep Sammy away from Tampa games moving forward at the very least.

I'll always remember TSN while ripping all the leafs signings that day, stated over and over "Jake Campbell will stabilize Edmonton's goaltending situation" after they signed him. LMFAO
I really wonder how some of the media in Hockey got their gigs... They're so bad at their jobs. Never forget

I feel sorry for Campbell in the sense he seems like a genuinely good dude. As an athlete you want to be the best and play up to a high standard.

On the other hand I'm glad he got his bag and is set for life along with his family. If Edmonton wasn't giving him that contract I'm sure another team would have.

Even the mains has revisionist memories and try to act like everyone was in agreeance. There were lots of fans from different fanbases dunking on the Leafs/fans about Campbell. It was supposedly sour grapes on our part.

Letting Campbell go was probably the most united I've ever seen Leafs HF.

I don't expect anything less from the main board peanut gallery. 5x5 was such a bargain. He'd be playing with McDavid, so it's an instant win, right? What could go wrong?

I wish the Oilers every failure imaginable.

I'm just glad that other team wasn't Toronto!
