That's Hockey: What’s Next For The Oilers With Jack Campbell Waived?

November 7, 2023

The Oilers placed goaltender Jack Campbell on waivers Tuesday. Campbell has a 1-4-0 record this season with a .873 save percentage and a 4.50 GAA. TSN Oilers reporter Ryan Rishaug joins That's Hockey's Geno Reda to discuss where the Oilers go from here.

Rangers playing some good hockey to start the year.

Haven't changed much of their roster from last year so Laviolette deserves some credit.

Even the mains has revisionist memories and try to act like everyone was in agreeance. There were lots of fans from different fanbases dunking on the Leafs/fans about Campbell. It was supposedly sour grapes on our part.

Letting Campbell go was probably the most united I've ever seen Leafs HF.
Drafting Liljegren and signing Tavares was up there too, although admittedly the $11m price tag was steep right from the start.

I liked Campbell as he's a hell of a nice guy and the type of guy you'd love your daughter to find, but his game fell apart after he lost his confidence and it seemed like a constant battle for him not to get down on himself. Glad he robbed Edmonton of some of McDavid's prime years where the Oiler fans can get bent outta shape

8 points now. All for 885k.

I wonder if BT decided he disn't want him, or if he decided he wanted to go himself
Given that Keefe basically f***ed him and blocked him from getting a good contract in the summer thanks to not using him at all I imagine he wasn't inclined to come back. Tre also probably fell for the name brand of Klingberg and bet on a bounce back.
