He was going to win the vezna and when any of us tried to tell them just how bad he was here in the second half of his last season they would insist we were just jealous.
I feel kinda bad for Soup cause I loved him here as a person bud damn Oilers fans were obnoxious that summer they signed then. They were so happy they stole him from us they wouldn’t listen when we tried to tell them what they were getting.

Campbell’s problems are all mental. In the right environment he could have had more success but that team in that market was never going to work

IMO, Depression related, or like issues. As soon as things go bad for him, they go really bad. It's been alluded to a number of times. I feel really bad for him, but the signs have been out there for a long time, before he even came to the Leafs. His time with the Leafs were probably his best period, but he still had his ups and downs here. Mental Health is tough enough on it's own, but to try and be a NHL goalie must be brutal.

He really should enter NHL Player Assistance, and try and piece himself back together... he's got the talent, but it's between the ears.

Yeah depression plus playing a position that is that hard must be killer.
Add that to a high pressure Canadian market and a one of the worst defensive markets in the league and it was always going to be bad.

I wouldn't do that yet. I think it's too early to give up on Samsanov right now. Likely will need him and Jones hasn't exactly been great in the AHL.

If Skinner had 1 year left on his deal I would consider a 1:1 swap for Samsonov

I have very little faith in Samsonov and we're probably not re-signing him, and we'd save cap space with Skinner

I didn’t think Campbell was that bad as he’s been in Edmonton but that poor defense did a number on his confidence
