Serious question if this season is as bad as it has started for Edmonton at what point do both Draisaitl and McDavid ask out? I couldn’t imagine being those 2 and year after year it’s the same problems that never get addressed. Goaltending and D clearly massive issues. Ugly contracts for Nurse and Campbell

McDavid and Draisaitl throwing temper tantrums when they did shows a lack of maturity and sealed the deal. Team scored the most goals in the NHL last season, game was very much in reach with 13 minutes left down by 2, and they threw it away because they can't control their emotions.

For the so-called 2 greatest players to ever play the game, they sure don't display much leadership.

I get Edmonton could be a tough place to live, but Matthews re-signed in Toronto with less success and the same concerns.


Would they get goals like this if they weren’t in Edmonton? How is this goal allowed?

Moved the puck but stayed there a tad longer to run a subtle pick/interference giving his players time to move the puck.

The Leafs kept getting less and less calls after complaining they weren't getting the calls they should be getting. I wonder if the Oilers will start going through that?

But man, the Oilers are a dumpster fire right now. Draisaitl has 1 more year on his contract after this season, and at this rate you know he's going to hit the UFA market and get out of Edmonton. Strangely enough, that's the same year John Tavares contract ends as well! Maybe Toronto can poach an Edmonton player for once?

Im for treating the goalie as you would a skater. The good ones will Lear to okay the puck and others will have to leave it alone.

No I'm not saying the pick is fine. Demko tried to act like he wasn't interfering on this play but in fact he was.

In this case he knows what he did.

Toronto, hopefully. Saving cap space for this season isn't worth taking on a contract that lasts for an additional two (seasons) if the acquisition isn't much of an upgrade (and I'm not overly convinced that Toronto would really be improving in this case).

He's been bad. You're not at the bottom of save percentages solely because of bad defense.

A 5M goaltender should be making saves. He just isn't.
