that series and the aftermath destroyed me. what a humiliation. it was this decade's version of the "it was 4-1", but somehow even worse given that the 2013 team shouldn't have taken boston to 7 games to begin with.

the leafs choked a 3-1 series lead against the worst team to ever make any playoff in any professional sport, ever.

since then i could never fully get behind this iteration of the leafs. there was always either some lingering background doubt (when they were doing well) or confirmation that they are fatally flawed (when they failed like usual in the playoffs).

You Ontario folks have no idea how many sketchy-ass, not-even-close-to-legal streams people like me have watched Leafs games on in the past. Kids nowadays don't know how bad it used to be! I had to watch Vesa Toskala shit his pants on a stream that was giving my porn laptop even more viruses. That might be the trashiest sentence I have ever typed and boy is that stiff competition.

I remember 2018-2019 when they finished near the bottom and I was glad to be a Leafs fan.

The tables have turned.

wow holy f*** wtf was that? McDavid just left all our jaws hanging on the floor. Unreal to pull that off in such an important game. Watching the Leafs you’d think nice goals don’t count in the playoffs

No. I recently said McDavid is 3AAV more valuable than Matthews.

And I called Matthews a winger.

McDavid is a true #1C.

Matthews is not.

The stakes are vastly different, but it must be nice to score first in a series clinching game at home and then manage to go up 2-0 instead of scoring first and then immediately giving up the next goal.
