Really? Why does a Leafs beat reporter suddenly care about the Penguins? I wonder....

She's an ESPN league wide reporter. She hasn't been a Leafs reporter for years. Take a step back, it isn't that deep. Everyones talking about a pretty surreal sequence that happened.

Is she or any other reporter or journalist or analyst not supposed to talk or comment on this if they are Leafs reporters? Why is it so weird or puzzling? Because Dubas was the GM of the Leafs and isn't anymore?

I don't buy it. She is an unabashed Leafs fan. Ultimately, who cares, but it seems to me that she was picking on Pittsburgh. Did any other non-Toronto based reporter reference that game tonight? Just seems suspicious to me, that's all. Not a big deal.

Many other beat reporters talked about it from various teams and fans. Not sure what that has to do with anything or how it's considered "picking on" ... She just commented on a pretty wild sequence from the Penguins. No references to the GM or finger pointing. You just assumed and projected your own feelings that people are being mean to Dubas... He'll be ok.

Justin Bourne is just one example that had multiple references to the game and he's currently Leafs centric.

Is Kristen trying to be a legitimate journalist? Why is she ragging on a former GM that was fired? It's such an unprofessional approach. You wonder why people think the media in this city is bush league.
She's not in Toronto. She works for ESPN.

Sheldon Keefe for Mike Sullivan.

who says no?
The NHL could use a trade involving coaches to spice things up a bit.

I'd say the Leafs decline (both coaches are under contract, but Keefe currently has his team in a playoff spot). While Sullivan's Cup rings are certainly nice, they seem to be far in the past at this point as well.

They've been pretty pesky to start the season. Not sure how long it will last, but they'll certainly make you work for a win

The only good thing is that this current not sucking hard streak that they are on has immediately rekindled the arrogant Hab fan into thinking they have a chance of going deep in the PO. Will be very funny when their little Hab hearts get broken by Christmas

She was rightfully critical of the leafs over the years which probably rubbed Dubas the wrong way. Kyle prefers the C.Johnson, Mirtle, Seigel type ring kissers who keep a closet full of excuses as to why Kyle was a massive failure. A shame she isn't a full time leafs reporter anymore.

They might actually have to fire Sullivan soon. He won't be a free agent for long.
Kyle wont fire Sullivan until the fan base is begging for it. Otherwise the media will act as if that was his plan all along (Babcock 2.0 situation).

f***ing Boston. Can't wait until Thursday night and see for myself what they're about. I have to say though, hard not to be impressed by what they've done so far. 7-0-1 with a +14 goal differential and a .947 SV%, holy smokes!
Their goaltending is really good and it looks like it’ll keep them in the top 3 again this year.

TTOE can fall off the cliff anytime now.

I wasn't aware of this. I thought she was a bit of a homer when she covered the Leafs. I mean, no one could possibly be more of a homer than Johnson and Seigel, but still.

Marlies legend Michael Carcone with a hat trick tonight
That game in general is kind of funny to look at from a stats perspective.

Arizona put up 8 and held Chicago to 1
Headed into the game, their goal scorers had 8 career goals (Brown), 6 (Carcone), 14 (McBain), 12 (Durzi), and 6 (O'Brien)
and their goalie had 8 career wins (Ingram).
