Friedman saying ottawa will get a punishment for the dadanov stuff, but doesn't think it will be that harsh because of new ownership (the f*** kind of reasoning is that lol)

Andlauer has only owned the team for a few months, and can't catch a break. Between the Pinto suspension and this, it's a great start for him. Welcome to Ottawa.

So you think there was intention to harm?

When I saw the clip my first reaction was it looked extremely intentional.
It's something I've honestly never seen happen before from both playing and watching the sport.
But its just way too hard to comprehend someone doing something like that so my next guess would be he slightly collided with the other player and sent him flying in the direction of Johnson. Almost what a player getting tagged with a flyby elbow would look like but somehow ended up with his lower half flying upwards.

Just a very difficult video to make sense of.

:dunno:

100% intentional, not to kill but definitely to make contact all though extremely careless

f***ing Boston. Can't wait until Thursday night and see for myself what they're about. I have to say though, hard not to be impressed by what they've done so far. 7-0-1 with a +14 goal differential and a .947 SV%, holy smokes!

That defence and goatending of theirs is still world class despite losing Bergeron and Krejci. I don't think they'll run away with the division and league again but this is Boston. They just refuse to f*** off.

Man, you keep thinking they'll fall off... and they don't. They are well run and all, but damned lucky too. I mean, Marchand, Pastrnak, Bergeron.. all guys massively outperforming/ed their draft position. Now you've got Poitras with five points in 8 games, as a late second round pick in the 2022 draft.

Like JvR, picked up off the scrap heap and also has five points so far... on a mil contract... like damn, these guys get the breaks. Have to respect it, even if they are the enemy.

I would agree but not to the point of injuring him with his skate blade.

i agree. I think it is crucial to see if anything happened earlier in the shift or in the game.
Bc to me, he knew what he was doing and it seemed like he just wanted to release his frustration by smashing someone.

McAvoy likely doesn't play against us, as he'll be sitting 3-5 games.

From 2019 playoffs - The NHL has suspended Boston Bruins defenceman Charlie McAvoy for the first game of the Eastern Conference final for an illegal check to the head of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Josh Anderson.

Does that count as prior history, or what is the time clause on that.

Unfortunately, Florida, Boston and Tampa have all made it to OT tonight. So points for everyone. Detroit is down 2-0 against NYI so far...

Edit - Tampa lost in OT.

Edit 2 - Boston won in OT. :(

And Pittsburgh lost. The Pens are so bad.

Tampa is not very good, so they are an afterthought from a divisional perspective. A bit irritating that Boston came back to win that game, but they will lose McAvoy for at least a few games. Meanwhile, the Penguins really are a mess. They were a mess before Dubas got there, and he basically doubled down on the mess. It will inevitably be a slow and painful rebuild there. Now, God bless because they have three more Stanley Cups to show for it, so none of their fans should be upset about starting over. Just like Tampa, at some point the greats have to fade away.
