I can’t read that name without getting visibly upset. Thank you for that. Because of the factors involved I don’t have more distain for any leaf player like I do for Barrie. But my hate should be directed towards Dubas for making that trade.

As I said, no clue how to build a team. Trading gamers away every year. Imagine this team with like Kadri and Hyman instead of robot man.

Imagine Kerfoot doing this:

I can't think of a team that's in a worst spot over the next few years than the Penguins.

The core guys have all been healthy and they've gotten the 2nd best goaltending in the league and the upside ended up being.... An average team at best.

It'll be a mistake to try to squeeze another run out of that core, but I sincerely hope they try so I can lmao at Dubas in the meantime.

I mean, we went all in for nearly 20 years. It's kind of the cycle.

I am frightened to see what Dubas does. But, we should be in the worst spot in the league over the next few years.

How soon until Dubas dares the Pens to fire him if he's not named owner?
Hilarious he leaves here because he doesnt have full control but now hes just in a situation where he is forced to try and win with a core that cant even make the playoffs anymore. Seems like the owners and Sully have him by the balls.

But I guess I'd do that for 50m too.

Won't matter. Buffalo isn't beating this Leafs team.

Anyone notice that the Leafs are doing exactly what the Panthers did in the second half of last season? Interesting comparison.
There you go again, jinx master………

That Karlsson trade though :biglaugh:
Boy Wonder continues to shit the bed, can’t wait to see the stupid moves he makes by the deadline……..

No surprise Dubas is doing the complete opposite of his mandate to get the team into the playoffs, rather he's taking them to the basement of the league after trading his own first round pick.

The Hockey Gods are writing some of the best scripted comedy one could ask for.
Karma cannot be escaped, Boy Wonder hanging himself in real time………

I am glad he got to do that against that jackass Dubas and his geriatric team. Must feel good to put a dagger in their playoff chase after that man traded him away for a scrub like Tyson f***ing Barrie.
What goes around, comes around……….

Loved the clip of him showing Spezza how to use a tablet properly when really what should be happening in the pressbox is Jason teaching Dubas how the game of hockey is played from someone who actually has a clue what they're talking about, having lived it.

I guess I've jinxed the Leafs into being the second best team in the league since Jan 1. My powers are extraordinary.

You will hear to this day justification for not giving Hyman 1 extra mil to stay, but they will make sure you know how severe it was to lose Lafferty for Gregor or Reaves.

Bunting is equal to Hyman for cheaper. i think supposed to add whisper emote here

I liked a lot of what Boy Wonder did, and think many judge him a bit too harshly. Personally, I think there is more blame to go on the star players, who weren't the best players on the ice when needed most. Sure, Dubas had some blind spots, and missed filling in a top RD for example... but I'd say this has been a player thing so far.

That being said, going to Pittsburgh was a straight up dumb move. WIth those guys there, the only chance was going all in, with a low probability of working, and then you are stuck with a zombie franchise if it doesn't work out.

Rebuilding a bottom team would have been better... any GM out of a job, would probably love to build up Arizona for example, with all of those picks that they've got... that would be a rewarding job with possibility. Ottawa would have been a better choice too.

Just bad judgement.

The biggest thing Dubas did was commit, then double down, then triple down on his belief that these were the right star players. If he was wrong about that… his whole entire vision was wrong.

As many dumb hockey moves Dubas made, taking the Pens job was not one of them IMO. After all, it is all about money and power for most of these suits.

I was thinking that perhaps Dubas welcomed the 1 "bubble contender" year as a way to learn the organization and get a feel for what he needs to do moving forward. Eventually Pens will be a "Rebuilding a bottom team would have been better" place to be. Crosby Malkin and even Letang are all still capable of going point per game. I see the appeal of trying one last time.

What a horrendous chain of events to follow though. Crosby's last chance to ever contend and he gets stuck with whatever plan this was. To top it off, they are losing a 1st rounder, causing the rebuild to hit a slow start.

He could get paid, and have power in a number of places.... this one isn't a good career choice.

Perhaps... time will tell if they ever succeed at some point.

He wasn't getting that money and title anywhere else in the near future. He'd be a fool to turn it down IMO. Even if he gets fired in a few years, he'll get another gig.
