In other words, I don’t know anything about that bc I have no sources close to Petey. And most importantly too lazy to make stuff up bc I can get more clicks by making stuff up about Leafs needing to trade a 1st rounder bc they don’t have a 2nd rounder, lol.

It is which is why it wouldn’t happen. No need for a take it or leave it stance. Player loves the team, Team loves the player.
Hopefully it gets done in the summer.

If I am MM, I will just signon July 1 at 11.93mil and leave it as that.
Don't even care what Drai will be signing, screw the comparable, just go sign the 11.93mil. Bc anything under 12m will consider a win and taking a discount for the team.
Ideally, if MM wants to play stress free hockey, he signs 11.16mil/8yrs, that way AM and Willie will always be getting more crap when the Leafs struggle.

If I am JT, I will sign a 4.5mil/2yr deal and says, I want to win a Cup as the Captain....

It would actually be genius for Marner to take a hair less than Willy.

4.5 for JT? For what? I hope to god the GM just doesn't table him an offer and wait for JT to come crawling to him for a league min deal. I'd maybe consider him at Kampf's cap hit, but honestly not sure how you can even consider giving him Domi money for this player. There is still another year of decline coming to boot. If he wants to get paid or have an ego about it, have fun in Ottawa bro. Peace out

Yeah I would expect he’ll sign early, somewhere between Nylander and Matthews

I think JT will be a winger in two years.
Also, I think JT will still be a 25-30goals scorer in the league.
