Their decisions to cover the Gaudreau and Tkachuk loss instead of embracing a rebuild will hurt them in a big way. Not only do they lose time, but they have big contracts with Weegar and Huberdeau (and Kadri) that will be anchors to move rather than assets

Pretty much. They can still salvage something by dealing Hanifin and Lindholm before the deadline. Even Mangiapane could fetch a good return with another year left on his deal. Retooling on the fly is not ideal, but it would be better than their current direction.

Knowing their ownership, though, Hanifin and/or Lindholm will be re-signed to a ridiculous deal and they'll continue to be a bubble team at best

DeBrincat has 8 goals already. Goodness me. Well done, Ottawa. Don't ever change.

I'm shocked those players werent dealt in the summer. Rebuild was due last year.

1st time I’ve watched an entire game of theirs but it doesn’t look like they took much of a step back.
I think at some point they'll feel the lack of scoring depth but their defense and goaltending will make them tough to beat every night.

I also think they trad Ullmark at some point this season for some offence.

I watch some of the Bruins Ducks game last night and the Bruins picked up where they left off last REGULAR season. Mason McTavish is a likable player and for what he did with the WJHC team I’ll always cheer for that kid. Bruins don’t like giving up goals.

Both kits looked good on TV, but those new white Bruins jerseys are fine. They may have overtaken TTOE‘s red units as the sharpest look in the league.

Interesting the ducks are going to load manage Carlsson his rookie year. Was hoping to catch watching him again last night.

I watched maybe half the game and wondered why the Ducks didn't try and score.

All sorts of zone time but no penetration. Skating around the outside, good puck control, but no real desire to cause the Bruins any issues front of net.

Didn't watch the third, but not surprised the outcome.
