Funny how the B’s lose Bergeron and Krecji, and get a soft schedule start the season.

They somehow face Western teams in their first 7 games.. Chicago twice, Nashville, Anaheim twice, LA, and SJ.

Plus they had a 5 day break before their Pacific coast swing.

Montreal, Minny, Chicago, Florida and Tampa is as soft IMO. LA is probably the only formidable team of the lot IMO. If it was November we'd be 5-0 instead of lucky to be 3-2 (1 regulation win).

It's easy to point to their soft schedule to start the year. But they've still gotten the job done and banked 10 points already. They haven't punted a game yet against a lesser team like Chicago.

They always start with a west coast swing and always start with a light schedule…and then get killed in March with three in four days over and over. Avoiding going against baseball and football. It sucks for the team heading into the playoffs tired every year. But Jacobs needs to squeeze out every penny.

That makes sense actually, heard that before too.

Still strange that it’s 7 straight west teams, what are those odds

I’d imagine passing could be an intangible they may have wished to include, since ya know passing is something done quite frequently when playing hockey. :sarcasm:

Something like % of successful completed passes in the offensive zone or something like that.

Instead this comparison chart is charting draft combine type stuff instead of real world hockey skills. Hardest shot? Really who cares about hardest shot?

Think people finally realizing what an opportunity Chia and Holland have wasted (still early but can almost apply the same to here so far).

Dont think I'll ever not be able to be a leafs fan despite all the failure, but I definitely go through periods where I'm checking out other teams/games more often. When you see the same shit go on for years it just gets stale for some people.

Being a fan of a Canadian team is already an up hill battle. Its even worse when most of their ownership groups are completely incompetent. The Oilers franchise has been a mess for well over a decade at this point.

Theres a lot of major issues with the oilers:
Poor team defence
Poor goaltending
Nurse making 9.5m
Campbell making 5m

The Oilers being a mess is the only thing that keeps my dream of having a player like McDavid come here while they are still in their prime and not 35+ looking to retire.

I watched maybe half the game and wondered why the Ducks didn't try and score.

All sorts of zone time but no penetration. Skating around the outside, good puck control, but no real desire to cause the Bruins any issues front of net.

Didn't watch the third, but not surprised the outcome.

Watched start of Sabres-Canadiens.

Sabres start like the Ducks did, puck control in the Canadiens zone but no real effort to score.

Habs go down the other end, take shots and pot a rebound.

Guess the thing to do is try and score first, be pretty second.

Arena looks half full, game in Buffalo. All the Jerseys in the stands are Habs. No Sabres fans?
