Hey guys, I am considering buying Sportsnet + so I can watch most of the games.

What has your experience been with this app?
  • Can you watch live games on your phone?
  • Can you see a majority of Saturday night games?
  • Does it include 100% of Leaf playoff games? Can you see other team's playoff games?
  • There's a lot of people on reddit complaining about bad quality streams or getting booted from the stream. Does this realistically happen all that often? I plan on watching a majority via a smart tv or a fire stick.

1. Yes
2. Yes, all national games will be available, so all HNIC games
3. Yes, yes
4. Occassional streaming issues (dropped stream, buffering), but pretty minimal in my experience. I watch via the XBox app primarily

It's not that bad.

You have to get the premium. Even still you miss a bunch of away games because of blackouts. But if you enjoy watching other teams it's worth it.

For a couple hundred bucks Rogers is more than happy to help you become a fan of another team.

To be honest I never live stream any games, and I watch all games on mute, so I don't know about the live experience, if it's choppy or what. But you can watch the recorded videos on your phone or laptop no problem by either wifi or mobile data. I was disappointed by the blackouts at first but I get my money's worth.

I watch the Leafs first.

Then I watch Rangers and Devils cause I picked them to win the cup this year. Then I watch the leftovers. Usually a Western team but I don't have a favourite in that conference.

If you watch two games a night you should be able to watch about a dozen games of every team in the league.

Up yours Rogers.

Signed,

A long time sucker.

This is an embarrassment for the league more than it is for the team.

They need to make big changes. The game has grown too large for the current system. If they want the AHL and ECHL to be development leagues they need to start releasing players from the CHL as soon as they are drafted.

Once a team drafts and signs a player it should be up to the teams discretion where to play them.

I can't blame those guys for not wanting to report to the ECHL. As it's structured right now the competition isn't conducive to these guys development. They'd be better off going back to juniours where there's at least a few star players.

The ECHL is all never-wases and never-will-be's.

Couldn't agree more.

Not surprised. Backstrom is old and had hip surgery, wont ever be the same. Kuzzy just always checked out, Carlson getting old, Ovie is 38 now, age catches everyone.

Feel like the next 3 years, Washingtons only goal will to get ovie the goal record and just feed him one timers on the pp all night long lol

3 games in and Flames fans already hate Kadri and Huberdeau again. Treliving pulled off the ultimate drag bunt with those two contracts before leaving
They're in for years of pain... But really seems like the owner refuses to rebuild like practically every other canadian franchise. This is where you end up if you do.

Theyll probably re-sign lindholm to a 9m+ contract next.

Drafted players play too long in juniors. There really should be a transition league between CHL hockey and the AHL. The ECHL could be that. However there's an agreement between the CHL and the NHL so nothing's changing.

Converting the ECHL to a development league for players 18-22 makes the most sense to me too, but the CHL is reluctant to let their "stars" go play elsewhere at an earlier age for fear of losing fans.

Just another example of greedy owners too busy lining their own pockets rather than doing what's best for the sport

He's already been in the AHL for more than 50 games. Getting demoted to the ECHL at this point usually means you aren't very high in a team's plans anyways.
They have no AHL team. That is the issue here.

Guys like Bedard are used to dominating at every level and I guess he wants to do that at the NHL level as soon as possible.

He has been dominating play so the points will certainly come for him. They're also on a tough road trip, having played 4 games in 6 nights

I like how some people have said his performance has been "underwhelming" and won't be impactful right away. I wonder if they said the same thing when McDavid had only 1 point in his first four NHL games :sarcasm:
