Would rather have Laf than Kampf.

Don’t understand why Keefe could not use Laf properly

Gregor is just as good to be honest and cheaper and younger. I was bummed about misusing Lafferty as well and trading him away but I think Gregor is a more than suitable replacement. Also even though I liked Laf, Kampf is definitely the better and more useful player IMO. He gets insanely hard usage and does well with it and he was excellent in the playoffs last year.

Lafferty is a winger. Kampf is a center. Lafferty was used in a few roles but really struggled in his time with the Leafs. He even got a shot to play with Tavares.

He got an opportunity to play bigger minutes in Vancouver and it looks good for him right now. Good for him. Not sure he'll last or do really well in that role long-term. He's just not skilled or smart enough.

Why did we get rid of Lafferty again? For Minten? :|
For the ability to carry an extra skater. Gregor can do most of what Lafferty can do even if he isn’t quite as good.
But replacing Lafferty’s 1.1M cap hit with Gregor’s league min cap hit we have more breathing room under the cap

Lafferty's direct competition was Gregor. Gregor has also scored a big goal for us just like Lafferty did for Vancouver. It's really nothing to complain about.

Ideally you have both. These 12 forwards aren't going to stay healthy all year and it's possible Minten is loaned out at some point, would've been nice to have Lafferty in the press box waiting for his number to be called. It's not the end of the world but the depth was slightly weakened.

Hard to blame Campbell for taking the money, I mean who wouldnt in his position. But also cant give him the benefit of the doubt. Hes been awful and is nowhere near worth that contract.

Oilers are not winning shit with their goaltending.

I like Jack as a person so much and appreciate what he did for this team here, but holy Moses did we all call what a disaster his contract was going to be for the Oilers.
That was one of the worst teams he could have gone to.
Even in an ideal situation that contract was going to be tough but the Oilers? Almost as much pressure as our market and way more expectations then he ever had here with him coming in on a big deal. There were a bunch of people in that market predicting he was going to win the vezna lol
No defence and forwards that constantly cheat on offence all that for a guy who struggles with self confidence.

I feel bad for him as he is genuinely one of the nicest people in the game but he got what he chose.
