Stecher confirmed that Zegras said something inappropriate. And he got a misconduct.
If they deemed it was an intent to injure, it would have been 5 + Game.
I'm glad Zegras didn't go after Stecher's dad, but let's not go the other way of, just because it wasn't what an amateur lip-reader thought, doesn't mean it was just a cheap shot or hockey play.

Rewatching it - it does back up what you said - Stecher came in hot pulled off Zegras helmet - got pulled away by a Duck, looked fairly calm then circled around and got into verbal w Zegras - at which point Stecher went ape shit. Good stuff

I don't think the Islanders are in a good position to parlay a 1st round pick, but at least it's a quality two-way player like Horvat.
Pretty rough that the Canucks opted to side with Miller, who just seems to be causing problems.
I always liked Beauvillier. Never took off as a power forward (mostly due to size), but the dude always punches above his weight class.

The Canucks owner is the clown in all of this (before even discussing the disgusting allegations made against him by his own family). I don't think Rutherford and Alvin ever had permission for a true rebuild even if their moves since have been pretty bland up until this trade. Miller was re-signed assuming they'd be playoff competitive. They could have put together an absolute war chest of picks and prospects if they'd supplemented this Horvat deal by trading Kuzmenko and Miller rather than re-signing them.
