Chychrun is super jacked but has a heart of gold... who knew!?

Hah, he has always seemed like a good guy. I saw a few of the off-the-ice videos he made with the Coyotes and he seemed like a funny laid back guy who was serious about winning. I wouldn't have been opposed to his addition one minute, though I was always concerned about his injury history like everyone else.

I am at peace with how it worked out as far as he is concerned though for now and am glad we don't have to hear of the rumors anymore. Gavrikov is a better fit in terms of need. Chychrun was always more offensive than defensive, and we are flush in the system with talented offensive defensemen on the right side. Adding another other the left side is overkill, though he would have been a good partner for Roy.

Let's have this discussion at the end of the postseason after Gavrikov does or doesn't re-sign.

That's where the "for now" came from in my response. Gav is the better defenseman to have on this team right now, but obviously, I am going to be right there with you to flip the table in rage if the team doesn't have solid postseason success and he walks.

Have you been to Edmonton?
Lots. Wife lived there for two years. Walk outside in winter with your eyes closed and you can’t tell if you are in Edmonton, Winnipeg or chillin at the North Pole.

There are some nice sections of the city and some good restaurants and a massive mall but still 2 to 3 hours to the mountains.

Going to a game there, however, is absolutely awesome. The crowd is some of the best in the NHL and they do love their Oilers.

As for the players, it’s not like they’re going golfing or surfing on their days off. It’s more like shovel the driveway and try to stay warm.

Surprised Montreal is playing Allard. Obviously, it sounds like due to injury, but I thought it was a straight-up AHL deal - never expected either to see NHL ice. He had a very good look at Vegas' last goal :sarcasm:
