CapFriendly being purchased by a team (named the Capitals), is one the most bizarre headlines in recent memory.

From that article:
"NHL teams that had agreements to use their tools/Application Programming Interface (API) recently received notice that these contracts would be terminated. This led to speculation that one club was buying the site, and all information pointed to the Capitals.

You can definitely see why a team would want this infrastructure. After the transaction officially closes, the website will go dark."

This still is pretty weird, especially how the NHL wants to keep all of it private.

I think it’s crazy the amount of weird people there are on the main boards. The amount of people who are doing mental gymnastics by saying it’d be wrong to target McDavid and Draisaitl seem to think that this is some weird utopian society where the bad eggs get sent to re-education camps.

If the Oilers lose this series, their GM needs to get more “criminals” as DL put it. McDavid and Crysaitl cant do the cheap shots anymore and if they do, then they need better backup.

Unfortunately, they can and will continue to do them since the league doesn't want to punish them for it. If some plug did that to Barkov, they would be suspended. Of course, I admit my bias because I can't stand those guys and that team.

Taking down Capfriendly will impact Fantasy Leagues, some betting site will start a like minded site (might have to join them to access it though)

A friend of mine and I were talking about this, and it will never happen. But he said just have Florida line up the biggest goon they can ice, and have him decapitate McDavid on the opening face-off with a two-handed swing. Sure you play the game a man down, but you take out their best player and make a point to league.

It sadly feels like it'd take something like that for the league to actually realize how they are ruining the integrity of the league and the sport with this crap.

My take, it's hard to take the Oilers seriously when they are biggest whiners in the league and have been crying foul for months.

But it's also tough to feel sympathy for the Panthers who kind of always be involved in crap like this because they have so many guys that play at or over the edge.

They have Nurse, Perry, Kane, Desharnais and Leon is a dirty bugger. Edmonton has the criminals. They just need some that can play with McDavid so that they are on the ice to protect him

Agreed. I love that jersey.

And I understand it's not something that will ever happen or is realistic - but I'd love for each team to just have one jersey/one color set. No home and away. No third. I think that would force the Kings to finally pick gold + purple full time.

But then again, I also think goalies should be allowed to take penalty shots and carry the puck up the ice, provided they're fair game when they exit the crease. Things like this are why I'm never going to be commissioner.
