Looks like the Canadiens did ended up fleecing the Jets in the end after all.

Meh, let's see how that pick turns out in 5 years from now. By several accounts, the back end of this years draft is not very strong. That Jets pick is likely going to be anywhere from 24-32. There has been data to show late first round picks rarely amount to much.

Monahan was left for dead a few years ago. Happy for the guy that he's been able to rebound some. Gives the Jets a good piece for their top 9 who can play on one of their PP units.

NHL should not expand past 32 teams. I don't think it will dilute the on ice product as there are enough good hockey players out there, just dont want it

Monahan trade sets the bar....Blake should be able to get a 1st for Matt Roy. Top 4 dman thats ridiculously cheap and fit into any teams cap. Knowing hes a UFA and the glut and RHD....failure to move him as painful as it may be would be horrible asset mgmt.

Great game at madison square garden tonight with the rangers beating the colorado avalanche 2-1 in overtime. Game winning goal by alexi lafreneire with an assist by none other than jonathan quick.
Quick played yet another outstanding game for the rangers, keeping the game at 1-0 in favor of the the avs until late in the 3rd period. The're saying Quick has won the starting job over another fine goalie, igor shesterkin.

Ive seen alot of em from glen hall to sergei vasilevskiy and Quick is the best since hasek. Its truly a gift to see our twice cup winning goaltender play so well in the sunset of his career.
