This is what I'll say about pride support, since usually it derails.

The fact that the league threatened players this season for showing ANY semblance of pride support, while the players who refused to show pride support for "religious reasons" had zero fear of repercussion from the league, reinforces exactly why we need buy-in to show pride support.

Those in power threaten to punish any support for marginalized groups. This is just another example of why we need to show support for people different from us even if we "disagree with their lifestyle".

it's a bit strange to me though because the NHL has a huge dedicated article about the mask and jerseys front page on the minny site.. links to where to bid etc etc

but they put their foot down on "you can't wear it in warmup"? when they're more than happy to advertise that it's "his" and is autographed by him?

i haven't been following it but didn't they literally just back off and say "do whatever you want for warmups"? like a month ago? how is this any different?

I can see prohibiting different gear in games, but who cares about warmups? Outside of young players helmets aren't even required in warmups ffs. Sure, express yourself with your hair flowing behind you as pucks whizz by your head, but under no circumstances honor your heritage and family.
