I think Florida finds some success when they get back home. They’re not just meekly allowing Vegas to have their way with them.

Don't worry, in the coming years, there will be plenty more Kings prospects they gave up on too early winning Cups on other teams!
...but don't worry we'll still have Kopi and Dewey, and Blakey and Lucky will still be running the show.

I'm perfectly fine with seeing Quick and Martinez lift the Cup twice as Kings and never as a Golden Knights

Don’t get me wrong - It’s not going to feel good, but I would be very happy for those two in particular as individuals I grew attached to.

I would also be happy for Panther fans to get their first cup. I’d also enjoy the shandenfraud of seeing Eichel lose.

What I personally find to be the most distasteful scenario of all is seeing Tkachuk lead his team to a cup. He’s an incredible player and has recentenly done a lot of good for the game as an off ice personality, but I have a very, VERY low tolerance for antics and the type of smarmy BS he does on the ice. I’ve been allergic to that kind of shit my whole life and in particular on my own teams I played on in my younger days of playing competitive youth travel hockey (I wasn’t good enough to go on past 18, I’m not trying to toot my own horn).

Understood.

I'm all about the antics.

Yup. I think it’s funny some people wanted to play Vegas rather than Oilers.

Vegas is everything the Kings aren’t.

Honestly, it might have helped our organization to be swept again by the Knights if we faced them round one this year. There would have been no excuse for x2 sweeps in a row and some leadership changes could have been done.

I have no idea if you guys are serious, but talking about Amadio like he's the player that they gave up on too early is hillarious.

Considering several of us took an absolute pounding for saying he's an NHLer at all, I'd say 'useful top sixer on a Cup team' is a pretty good outcome.

Kings just keep giving Stanley Cup teams useful players for free and it's not gonna stop anytime soon.

Since he was one of the first, nobody could recognized this management group's pattern of introducing offensively talented players (who actually think offense-first) into the league as misplaced bottom 6ers. Obviously Amadio's not the greatest of players, but he got the exact same treatment as Kaliyev is getting now.

The thing that rarely gets discussed is the ramifications of having the wrong players on the 4th line. Having actual, honest to god veteran role players in those spots never gets the appreciation it deserves. The Kings 4th line of loose change skilled players gets caved in during the playoffs.

Break through year at 27 years old put up 27 points. Previous high was 18 points. Amadio is having a good playoffs, but wasn't much of a loss & would just take another spot away from the youth.

Blake & Luc mess up quite a bit. Amadio isn't a big deal. Career wise, nowhere close to Iafallo who most of us would be fine with trading tomorrow.

That's not really the issue though. The problem here, then and now, is the path that skilled players are placed on doesn't maximize their skill sets and value. You see low end misses like Amadio and potentially high end misses like what appears to be happening with the recent top picks. Its not the players, its the developmental philosophy affecting prospects across the board.

And I will add, nobody worth their salt would be fine with trading Iafallo.

I'd trade Iafallo to keep him off the first line next year & those penalties he took on depth players in the playoffs. Congratulations! Our defensive vet forward just got burned by a bot 6 player & put the 25%? PK on the ice. Iafallo, Moore, Arvidsson are redundant.

The process is working. See Kempe. Tank development, sign to a cheap contract, sit back & watch him put up 40.

The problem is guys like Caufield playing 123 games (1.5 seasons) at -35 & just signed for 8. It sucks & is frustrating, but if they're given prime ice time it kills the ability to fill out a team.

Sure would be exciting to see some of these young guys get a chance to succeed though.

Edit: What I'm overlooking is time. MTL signs that hoping Caufield improves by the time MTL is ready to compete.

King's are in a different boat. They're trying to compete now & need the prospects to round out their games so the team can be competitive now.

OTT & NJ are in the middle, trying to be competitive & their young stars aren't quite there yet on the defensive side.

Watching Oilers flame out again this post season just reinforces emphasizing all skill & no attention to the defensive zone isn't the way to go.

Only good thing about the Knights winning a cup would be that it rewards a team that has been aggressive and maybe other teams would duplicate.

Cats with a rough trip to Sin City.
