I didn't like the way Dubas handled himself over the past few months.

Getting overlly emotional at games when he knows the cameras are on him. Felt like he was near breaking down in tears at the year end press conference.

Grow up dude. Act like a professional.

He's making millennials look bad. Sort of fitting the stereo type the older generation has about us.
You watch Maple Leafs games? Before the latest posts in these threads....I would not have been able to point out Dubas in a lineup....and I'm pretty sure I still wouldn't be able to point him out.

Look for the unhinged doofus with the eyeglasses circa 1968.

Or… look for the guy that looks like Rivers Cuomo’s degenerate brother in a blue suit.

Last year I started watching the SDPN podcast regularly.

Since they're all Leafs fans on there, I started following the Leafs fairly closely by extension.

When you know all the storylines surrounding a franchise, you can't help but take more interest in the team. I watched a lot of their games this year.

Other than the Kings, I follow the Leafs and Sabres the most closely.

I caught on to SDPN during COVID, they have great content, and yeah, I admittedly started paying a little more attention to the Leafs too as a result. Which is funny because I’ve lived in Ontario my whole life and never gave a damn till recently.

I tried to watch a few leafs game when Muzzin got traded, but just don't care about other teams. And the only news of the Leafs I get is when I occasionally watch Steve Dangle videos. YouTube hockey takes are just horrible....they're all in it for the algorithm. And even if you found Steve's presentation annoying, he was one of the few with an authentic opinion; it's not surprising Sportsnet picked him up.

Hockey punditry and analysis in general sucks. It's hard to find "hockey talk" where anyone has a real opinion or personality. Spittin Chiclets is okay.

I assume you're already aware, but SDPN is the Steven Dangle podcast.

When it came to prospect talk, I really enjoyed the Scouching Youtube channel. But he just took down his videos and announced he'll no longer be doing them.

haha, makes sense. Was not aware he had a podcast. I will check it out.

Also it’s no shock that there’s certain things to be good in the playoffs. Kings for example lost due to the same glaring holes they had in the beginning of the season. It’s not that they can just get into the playoffs and anything can happen.

Kings had glaring weaknesses, bad medical staff, bad coaching, bad defense. Then you add the lack of character from Kopitar and Doughty with Durzi getting defensive zone starts late in the game.

Anything can happen in the playoffs if your team has the intangible ability to overcome adversity. You have Todd, arguably the biggest choker in NHL recent history, and then that’s that.
Given we get zero feedback on medical issues your view on the medical staff is an opinion based on little fact and conjecture. We do not get enough info to have a view one way or the other.

Florida Panthers look like they're headed to the SC finals.

Only 17 SOG in that game and they still win.

I knew I'd see this take somewhere and I totally disagree.

This version of Tkachuk is actually playing like his reputation of him and his dad, letting his play on the ice do the talking

Prior to this year, he was just running around yapping and doing dumb shit, and his playoff rep RIGHTFULLY took a beating

He's absolutely lethal right now, an actually deadly hockey player who will play with grit. Prior to this year, he was just a caricature of himself. Now he's finally grown into it appropriately.
What part of my take was wrong? I didn't say he had a great playoff rep prior to this year. I'm actually very stoked to see it since the biggest knock on Keith is his playoff resume.

Is it the Doughty comment? It's true. If Tkachuk was a King he'd be the most popular player on the team and that's if he acted the way he did prior to this season: a season that saw him once again squarely tell the LA Kings that they are a bunch of gigantic p***yes as he sticked Quick in the eye and nobody did anything about it.

Imagine having that guy on our team but he's trolling the Ducks or Sharks all of the time. The arena would be full of Tkachuk jerseys.

So who do you think won the Panthers Flames trade? I'm still on the fence. Just can't decide.
The initial trade is to be determined in my opinion, but from Florida's perspective it is not a loss. Still maybe a win/win though for me. The fact Calgary then sent that first with Monahan is crazy.

The value Calgary got for a guy who wanted out was really good and I think Huberdeau will have a nice bounce back (not to same point levels as last year though but not as bad as this). Issue here is the crazy contract Calgary then gave him

That's fair, but I think that if things keep going the way they are for Florida, MT may earn himself the Conn Smythe if Bob doesn't. It's crazy to see how well Florida is playing and how well he fit in their system.

Really gonna have to root for Tkachuk to win the Cup aren't I...

Not sure what's happened this postseason, but Oettinger is playing like a guy who's doubting himself in net right now
