How about we treat it worse than trying to circumvent the cap when the league made New Jersey's first round pick be the last pick of the draft, just as a start?

Chicago getting a clean slate after covering up the sexual abuse for the past decade is NOT good for the league.
Now that's not quite the same thing. Circumvention hurts the competitive balance of the game. The Kyle Beach stuff has criminal and civil remedies.

The roster, coaching staff and largely the front office have been cleared out. They are a big market that capitalized on their bold decision making. They will also be better off with Bedard not having to come in to Toews' team - this was a well orchestrated rebuild, just like I praised them for last summer when everyone was freaking out about the DeBrincat deal. Chicago has handled this brilliantly and deserve the luck.

Fortune favors the bold.

Hill goes in after an injury. Quick was scatched , working out in the gym, trainer runs in and says get dressed. Quicks like huh?

A proper rebuild? Because we KNOW that's gonna get results right...ala Buf...crap...wait no...ala Ott....crap again....wait...ala Chi...shit..no....ala EDM...well, kinda sorta maybe if you have a decade to do it in.....CAR...well shit...no....that was a decade at least as well....

Can we stop using words like "proper rebuild" like there is one way to do this shit?
What has been the most successful way that teams have rebuilt into SC winners?

I have given you all the great teams since the lockout who have been constructed like this. Maybe you and @kingsfan28 or anyone else who believes in what Blake is doing can cite all the examples of teams constructing a championship team like the Kings are doing it?

There is no guarantee that it works for everyone, but it’s clearly without question been the most successful way to build a championship roster.

Yea the Hawks get Bedard but they have a lot of work to do to build around him and if they don't do it right they might not amount to much.

NYR did it pretty well, VGS.....BOS seems to do it without rebuilding, STL didn't rebuild....WSH didn't rebuild....

You could have stopped at...there is no guarantee......simple.

The celebration of Chicago's gross negligence of a player, while deliberately tanking via trading away talented young players, while also holding onto the spineless leaders who let the sexual assault happen is gross. But you do you. I just find it very telling you're forgiving of their past transgressions as long as they "want to win" and they made the moves you approve of.

Those who were involved are not with the Hawks. And fact is life goes on. The Hawks are not going to fold their tent and close shop. They evaluated, made the needed changes and are moving forward. Further there isn't a perfect person alive, everyone makes mistakes, some worse than others and when mistakes occur we all want to be forgiven. A fact of life is that we learn from our mistakes and don't commit them again.

It will be at least 4-5 years before the Ducks are a playoff team. The Samuels don't pay for players, and certainly won't be going after big FA. You can bet Zegras' next deal will not be easy to work out either. There's still 6 teams that are much better than them no matter what their rebuild on paper looks like.
No it won't be. I'd bet anyone, any amount they want that within 4-5 years they are back in the playoffs.

They have a lot of young high-end talent already and will be adding someone who will probably end up the best of them. And they will probably be picking in the Top 8 next season.

nobody is denying this, every team is built different and in different ways. If there was one sure fire way, it would be the model across the nhl. But there isn't. Look at the Oilers, 5 first round picks, going back to Hall, and 12 years later they made it to the WCF once, and 2 first round losses. Everyone kept saying "scary good" even after Mcdavid, but until the last few seasons, a big meh.

I don't agree with everything Blake has done, and sure some picks have not worked out yet , but every team has has to deal with this. You think the Rangers fans are happy with LAF and Kakko?

Chicago w/the #1 OVR, Ducks w/the #2, and Sharts with the #4. It could get ugly for the Kings in a few years. But knowing this team they will avoid a proper rebuild at all costs, and pay out the ying-yang to try to get Matthews in FA in a few years, and we will continue to be a black hole team, while trading away all their 1st round picks for patch-work players. :help:

50/50 call, not sure what Martinez was supposed to do there though

And they get it right back...LMAO

Real rough night for Bouchard defensively

Love it. Oilers are self destructing. Drsiatle finally gets called for slashing. He slashed a lot of Kings players and never was penalized.

What penalty did the Blackhawks organization face?

That doesn't erase what I said about them deliberately tanking by trading away young talent - much like Buffalo did when they tried to get McDavid.

And I'm sorry, but don't give me that "nobody's perfect" bullshit. I didn't ask for perfection. Covering up sexual assault for 10 years isn't a f***ing mistake.
