Insane goal from Knies, a rookie, playing with Matthews in the playoffs
If he was an LA prospect he would be in the AHL or a Black Ace, and that's a major problem. As it's been repeated a million times by many on here, you put players (especially elite talented ones) in a position to succeed next to other talented players from day one. None of this "prove yourself on the 4th line" bullshit

Crazy how a team playing Marc Staal 20+ minutes a night is up a game in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Not sure about others but for me it's pretty depressing. And sad thing is it's probably going to continue too.

Getting two #1 picks, then finding a few guys like Mercer in the later rounds really helped. Not sure giving up 2 first for Mier was smart for a team thats not reached contender status as measured around here.

NJ is absolutely a contender, or at least right on the cusp of contending. Their young core will get better just by virtue of getting older and gaining experience.

They’re the exact opposite of LA right now, which is also evidenced by their ability to advance past the first round.

Which elite talented players are on the Kings right now, outside of Byfield [ still in progress] aren't getting their shot? Knies a late 2nd round pick, has 3 NHL games under his belt, and 1 whopping point . He has 3 assist in 7 playoff games. This is not an elite player.

I can see them contending, but not yet, more a cusp team like you said. Having 2 top #1 picks helped too. They advanced because the Rangers suck:laugh:. LAF, 0 points and Kakko 1 goal 1 assist.

Where did he say only elite players should be put in a position to succeed?

As usual chasing size and toughness always costs you.

In this case the price for Columbus was Bjorkstrand, who just scored his 3rd goal in his last 2 playoff games.

Beniers is going to have nightmares if Seattle loses this game. If he hits that open net and makes it 5-2 it's game-set-match.

At least Kraken fans weren’t calling for him to be traded like they would on here if Byfield did that

Grubhauer doing what we expected Korpisalo to do

Also Kraken have a gritty playoff squad not a bunch of soft midgets
