Random Saturday thought - is Bob tradeable this summer?

He'll be 35 with 3 years left going into next season. Its a back diving with an aav of 10M. Relatively average season going into playoffs, where he obviously had a great run. Florida's been quick to switch away from his at various times over his deal.
It might make more sense to wait until his NMC downgrades to a M-NTC (next offseason). I suppose that playoff run could provide an equally valid reason for either trading or retaining him.

I didnt even know he had a NMC, so my hypothetical was more a Q would any team be interested.

FLA may have to retain salary or take back salary/try to make a hockey trade out of it in order for that to happen. As a team that should be striving to remain in contention, they may not be as motivated to do so in comparison to a SJ with Erik Karlsson.

Hilarious that it happened to the team that essentially exists to allow others to stay under the cap.

Also, if the Coyotes move after next year, then it gets even better: Arizona trades OEL and retains salary, Vancouver buys him out, Arizona gets stuck with one year of retention from the buyout, and then wherever they move to gets stuck with the additional seven.

Some poor fan in Houston or Salt Lake City is going to be trying to build a team on CapFriendly in 2030 and get frustrated that they can't facilitate a trade because OEL takes up a retention spot:laugh:

How unfortunate that would be.:naughty:

Man how do they get those buses branded with "Stanley Cup Champs" so quickly??? Looks like a lot of work and very expensive too.
They had a week.. probably designed a month ago and just needed printing wrapping unless its just a screen like a projection screen and hanging

Wrapping makes more sense. Thanks. My head was thinking towards painting these buses.
Oh..lol.. that would have been cooler though

But.. even painting they would have been worked on as soon as vegas advanced.. same way both teams fan gear is pre printed and africa ends up with all the twilight zone winners

Another player it seems not looking to "maximize" dollars with a 3 yr contract waiting for cap to go up.

Why would a 27 year old risk a 3-5 year deal when you can get a guaranteed money for 8? Looking at Matthews wrist injuries, I'm surprised he would want short term stuff. Look at Landeskog. He's 30 and his career might be over.

Makes me also wonder about how committed a player would be to going all in physically for a season when your signing short term contracts constantly. One injury changes your financial future instantly. Sign an 8 year contract now and Your 35...which is pretty much retirement age for most hockey players.

Wow...a team "could" do something. Groundbreaking stuff. Has being an "insider" devolved to the most info-evasive/neutral position it's ever been?
Seravelli is the type of insider to just say anything that's a possibility just so he can say he broke the news if it does happen. His ego gets hurt if he doesn't break something so this is what he has to do now.

Agreed, I stated as much last week. A bird in the hand.......well you know the rest. AM would be well advised to consider this. I'm sure his agent would want his big cut guaranteed too
