I don't think I'd make that trade.

I think there's a decent chance Sammy is the 2nd/3rd best goalie in the division going forward.

I definitely don't share the rationale of rating Husso higher than Samsonov when considering that the former is a bit older and has fewer GP (and inferior numbers) in comparison. I wouldn't be making that trade either.

Am I crazy or are rumoured Karlsson destinations, Pittsburgh and Carolina, two of the worst possible fits for him?

Both teams have a #1 RD power play quarterback already. Carolina even has the proof Burns-Karlsson doesn’t work because San Jose just had them both and it was a disaster.

I think Karlsson is a hell of a player and could be a huge add for certain teams but if I were ranking Karlsson destinations 1 to 31 in terms of fit, the Canes and Pens would be at the bottom of the list.

Has to be outgoing Cap and retention. I don't think Sharks want to retain, but it is only 4 years retention and Sharks don't look like they'll be competing for the next couple.

In the case of the Pens, they probably need a hail Mary type move to milk the last few years of Crosby before they eventually have to do a full bottom up rebuild.

While I don't necessarily see Karlsson as the solution there's he's probably one of the ways they could gamble. Depends on how many 1st round picks go out the door for him

Wow initially looks like a really bad deal for Ottawa. They traded 7th overall and 39th overall and a 3rd just last year and today they get a 27 year old, an echl defenseman, a 3rd and a conditional first.

Does the NHL have a problem? Players seems to be demanding trades or not wanting to play in Canada. If this continues, Canadian teams are screwed. Not sure Bettman cares
