They seem to have a good group of big defensemen who can be great bumper options on the blueline on a heavy cycle but it looks like they went light on skill at the expansion draft. Defensively they’re all over the place and Grubauer got hung out to dry a bit and let in a clunker on the first one. Exciting times to start up a new franchise but remains to be seen if they went the right route with their philosophy.

Connor McDavid’s only personality trait seems to be salty about being interfered with or not given a power play opportunity. It’s obvious why Matthews has surpassed him as a marketable poster boy for the game. To say nothing about their merit as hockey players.

If makes complete sense. Matthews is a very marketable player for the med is - more unique personality AND a big time goalscorer.

McDavid's off ice personality is even more boring than Crosby was...

The ESPN deal will imo be pretty good for hockey in the US. They already seem like they know what they're doing

Are the Kraken starting their season with a road trip because their arena wasn't expected to be ready? Otherwise it seems strange to me for them to open on the road as a new franchise.

TBH it’s also more likely because Matthews is American, and will have more draw
 
Rangers and Flyers game has a lot of noise surrounding it, about retribution to Tom Wilson, and certainly the Rangers have armed themselves pretty well. Who knows what will actually happen in the game, but worth keeping an eye on.

At this point if im the caps i scratch tom wilson tonight and completely destroy the mood and the build up since its pretty much a retribution tour

What happened is the rangers are still the rangers, another top pick for them. You know you played bad when Ovy scores shorthanded against you.
