Bjugstad with a $750k 2-way contract to AZ. Stalock $750k 1-way to CHI.

$4.5M in cap space with 13 players signed for 2023-24 season. Maybe $11M with Seabrook's bogus contract. So ~$1M per player the rest of the way.

That's not too bad with the LTIR cushion. They are a quality team in a no tax state, so they'll be able to pull in the low cost vets chasing a Cup for cheap as FA.

Could the Hawks make it any more obvious?

I like what CHI is doing. They just isn't any way they can be good next year, so be terrible instead. Load up on 1 year deals (maybe overpay the players a little) and sell them all at the TDL.

Wish the Wild would have done this 5 years ago. Can’t really do it anymore unless we would move Kaprizov, which would be a tough pill to swallow.

it feels like a Chel dynasty rebuild. Sell everyone and load up on 1 year deals to sell during the season. As long as they don't build a culture of losing it may pay off in the long run. Chicago is one of the few teams that seemed to have a successful rebuild the last time they did one. Maybe they are due for a disaster though one can hope.

You wanted the Wild to sell off everything but Koivu (Toews) and Suter (Kane) in the middle of two 100+ point seasons? Minnesota folk are strange.
Would be better off right now if we did. Everyone knew we weren’t good enough to win it all. Imagine having capable centers to play along Kaprizov.

Not a realistic expectation. No owner or GM would ever sell the farm when they are a 100+ team. Its never happened before and it will never happen in the future.

MN would have ended up with Nolen Patrick, Cody Glass, or Mitts...

We could trade Kaprizov right now and be better off in 5 years too! Should we do that? We certainly are limited in putting together a competitive roster for the next three years.
