Pretty sad we have to go back to the 240p era.
And that Kopitar goal is pretty depressing. Wish he'd do that nowadays.
Hate to say it but Anaheim at +1000 is pretty sick value for a team that was basically one win away last year, and returns most of their players in their prime. They are the favorites in the west, Chicago's odds are because of the massive size of the fan base and how much casual money will be put on them. No way with the loss of Saad, Sharp and the uncertainty with Kane are they on the level with Anaheim right now. Realistically their odds should be switched.
St. Louis at 14/1 is lighting money on fire.
I'm pretty bullish on Columbus this year, they are +1200 to win the East. They may be a year away but they have all the pieces to win that conference.
The Kings aren't a great value bet, I was expecting more like +1300 or +1400, but the books know the Kings could easily burn them to, sharp bettors know the Kings missing the playoffs was a fluke and they are a threat to beat any team with or without home ice.

Meh, I don't like them. Are they the 3rd jersey?
Stay with the traditional look.
Not a fan of the new Isles new all black 3rds, (not a fan of the Kings' all blacks, either) but clearly, CLEARLY I'm in the minority on that. Folks like 'em. Even the SF 49ers are sporting black special occasion outfits.
Black uniforms are so original. The Kings would be much better off going with their purple and gold uniforms full time.
Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban and his foundation have pledged at least $10 million to the Montreal Children's Hospital. The hospital is calling the money the largest philanthropic commitment ever made by a professional athlete in Canada.
Brock Nelson of the Isles is not under contract, his agent says he has not heard from the Isles in 6 weeks. If Nelson is signed by tomorrow (training camp) per below, he can't play in the NHl this year.
That's a tough negotiating stance from the Isles....

No progress, at this point, on stalemate between NYI and RFA Brock Nelson. NYI have offered two-year bridge deal to Nelson.

According to NYI club rules, per owner Charles Wang, if Nelson not signed by camp opening on Thurs, he's not eligible to play this season.
Wang has done that to Bergenheim before. Nelson really has no recourse but to sign but it will leave a bad taste for future negotiations.
Although there was this:
@NicholsOnHockey: LeBrun: I was told by one source #Isles made Brock Nelson a seven-year contract offer a year ago. Was rejected. Don't know money involved.
His production is comparable to several other players that signed new RFA deals this season, including Minnesota's Mikael Granlund, Montreal's Alex Galchenyuk and Ottawa's Mika Zibanajed. Those players all signed two-year deals that averaged more than $2.78 million per season. From a goal-scoring perspective Nelson is the most productive out of that group, averaging .220 goals per game in his career.
Funny thing about the money that article and the one below inferring the money is the reason he hasn't signed in the 6 weeks since the offer was made. Based on his production and similar players ;
Last yr he had 20 goals and 22 assists, and as the article points out, if he doesn't sign by tomorrow, an NHL team could offer sheet him.
or I wonder if he could sign a 1 yr deal overseas in Germany or Switzerland.
