in your 20's tons of fun
in your 30's and 40's not so fun
once the kids leave the house - fun for 5 years
after that not so fun.

I am anticipating a mid life crisis once my kids leave home.

I am anticipating that my midlife crisis will be having kids, but maybe that's the kid in me talking

at least 5 teams have called the Hawks inquiring on trading for Kane...

Biggest takeaway from this @MarkLazerus column: GMs hear 'bargain buy?!' when everyone else hears 'felonies' -- http://*******/1JJIyra

Yep and yet many fans of other teams want Voyonv thrown out of the league and banished to Sibera to live in the gulag.

And here I thought it was just the Kings being a classless immoral bunch of goons! Do it Deano! Let's be the full on 90s Cowboys!

The flames last year had several players have career years, and score a ton with the goalei pulled. It is very unlikely both of those continue.
However I think they have made enough changes and through the growth of their youth they should not need to comeback as much as they did last year, and if some players regress adding Frolik, hamilton and for all intents and purposes Benett will help to offset.
I could see them finishing 2nd in the division or just missing the playoffs. The west is that close
.

I see them as a bubble team. They really can't expect to win all those games again being down by two or three goals going into the 3rd. They snuck up on a lot of teams last years, this year they won't be so lucky, even with the new additions.

Nashville will never be a contender without a 1C. But they won't give up a single thing of value for a 1C. Do the math.

Yup. Need a complete team.

Just like the Kings weren't going to win dick until they acquired Carter as the missing winger. Then when Carter moved to C they needed Gaborik.

Although I think Filip Forsberg is pretty close to being that 1C.

St. Louis did well in getting rid of one half of the teflon twins, even if the return wasn't that great, a message had to be sent to that team. If they collapse in the playoffs again this season then I think the other teflon twin is gone.

FF was playing wing most of the year IIRC and he doesn't handle physical play really well from what we saw. I trust their fans and they said he usually isn't that rattled, and I'm sure he'll grow into it a bit, but I'm not sure he'd be an excellent center.

Hey, it's you guys' turn on the trade board.

C'mon Yzerman, say something to the media!

Speaking of the Blues, they gave Scottie Upshall a PTO, nice pickup for them if they keep him. Always liked him as a Flyer, heart and soul guy, great teammate and if used the right away a decent producer. Best of luck to him.

He wasn't so hot in Florida, but then again....it WAS Florida, though he spent most of his time on the shelf. Hope he can stay healthy for a team out there if it isn't St. Louis.

He was fine in FLA when he was healthy, it was his first 2 years he missed most of the season.
Given the right linemates and situation, he'll be fine and he'll produce. He's only 31 lots of miles to go.
