I'm here for the tank, this team finishes no better than 5th in that division.
My question is what's the playoff format? 4 4-team divisional pods? if they use the current format, what's conference "A" and "B"?
Say what you want about VGK's championship chances, they are doing a lot of bridge burning. This is the stuff people alluded to when DL went out, and how loyalty meant so much to them--VGK is basically doing the opposite. Guys aren't even signed for a full year and they're getting shopped? I know for some that might be brass-tacks/bottom-line 'good business' but it's also how you ensure people don't trust you in the future.

Apparently Vegas is having a fire sale.
Looking forward to another top 5 pick!JEBUS. Now it's rumored that St. Louis is in our division rather than Minnesota? Now, it's going to be a slaughterfest for four teams rather than 3 teams. I was hoping if it was top four made it to playoffs, we can try our best to be top of the garbage heap and sneak our way in a playoff spot unexpectedly. Now, with St. Louis possibly being in our division, we might as well go for the tank, with some form of progress of the last month that Kings played games.
From a travel standpoint this probably makes more sense. That and keeping Colorado, Dallas, and St. Louis in the same division. Those fan bases will be happy with this decision. St. Louis will miss playing Chicago though, which is one of their big rivals.I liked Minny in our division better than STL
That being said, the West has the Best (Col, Dal, STl, Vgk) and Worst teams in the league.

I was asking about the DL stuff
i mean he's good at chopping hands/wood so either one suitsWouldn’t mind seeing Marchessault dealt to Afghanistan. Or worse, Ottawa.
Word is whenever Johnny Hockey is playing Vegas he starts shaking his hand as soon as Marchessault steps on the ice.i mean he's good at chopping hands/wood so either one suits

That makes it sound like the Kings have any other potential plans, regardless of what division they're in. It's the same roster as last year, plus Maatta. Maybe one of the prospects. They have no intentions this year, whether it's St.Louis or Minnesota occupying one of the slots. The plan hasn't changed.
I just like to see this team at least try to be a competent team for like 1/3 to half of the start of the season and see if it looks like they have a shot of sneaking in the playoffs. Make me believe that they have a chance rather than it being a foregone conclusion that they won't (which it will probably be anyway). I mean if they try and they look like ass in that period, bring on the tank, it is what it is. I get not wanting to rush development. On the other hand, we got to start showing the young guys and the prospects in the fray on what it is like to win, at some point, and make them chase that winning attitude more.
