I don’t think it’ll wind up being super consequential as I don’t think Kakko is much more than a solid 3rd liner, but still an atrocious return for the Rags and despite my belief that he won’t develop much more he still is very young and could easily prove me wrong. I almost feel bad for rags fans. Oh wait. No I don’t. Lol

If any team can and should take a Kakko gamble, it's Seattle. Their farm system is a ways away from having a real impact and their current group is a real hodge-podge of inconsistent mercenaries. If he turns out to be a late-bloomer and pans out for them as a top-6er, he'd be a third potential young core piece after Beniers and Wright.

Well they didn’t want to trade him to this conference I would guess. Of the western conference teams it’s crazy this was the best offer, though given the players lack of success plus his public display of no effs to give about being a Ranger likely left Drury with lowball offers. I bet he ends up carving out a career. Another guy that reminds me a bit of Eller.

Catton is a pretty significant piece I think. Probably their most skilled guy yet. They need a couple of dmen to start rounding the young core out. Evans isn’t bad but they don’t really have any higher end D coming along. Kakko is a good pick up for cheap.

True, but Catton is a couple of years away, IMO. They will likely draft a defenseman in the first round this year.
