I don’t think it’ll wind up being super consequential as I don’t think Kakko is much more than a solid 3rd liner, but still an atrocious return for the Rags and despite my belief that he won’t develop much more he still is very young and could easily prove me wrong. I almost feel bad for rags fans. Oh wait. No I don’t. Lol
Catton is a pretty significant piece I think. Probably their most skilled guy yet. They need a couple of dmen to start rounding the young core out. Evans isn’t bad but they don’t really have any higher end D coming along. Kakko is a good pick up for cheap. If any team can and should take a Kakko gamble, it's Seattle. Their farm system is a ways away from having a real impact and their current group is a real hodge-podge of inconsistent mercenaries. If he pans out for them, he'd be a third potential young core piece after Beniers and Wright.

The Ronnie Franchise special.Pretty much a no risk move that still has a bit of upside for the Kraken. Now, I think they've got too many of those solid but not spectacular types but not a bad move.
Tweet Of The Year:
Yeah, the Flyers vs Wings game has been interesting. A goal scored in the first minute of the game.
I think we're right there. The thing is we have a team full of worker bee players and those teams can make a splash in the playoffs. If the scoring dries up, we're in big trouble, which is always possible when we don't have a Kucherov or McDavid or Crosby on the team. However, we've scored 4 goals in seemingly every game this year, and virtually everybody on the team is getting in on the scoring pretty equally. That to me bodes best for our playoff hopes. We have decent 1st line types but also some of the best depth in the league. It's wild how Jordan Martinook has found another gear this year, and how Eric Robinson looks like he belongs.Watched a replay of the Cats-Oilers game the other night. A sloppy game but quite entertaining.
An interesting note came up during one of the in-between periods in which they listed the current favorites to get to the SC Final. Oilers were top followed by the Canes.
FWIW, I just don't see it without a significant add by TDL. My current top tier is Toronto, Florida and Edmonton and Canes are in the second tier of Jersey, Dallas, Winnipeg and Minnesota.
Thoughts?
And he was right to be pissedMy favorite part of this game was when one official raised his arm to call a penalty on the Wings, causing the Flyers to pull their goalie and put a sixth guy out there. That official then put down his arm, and another official raised his arm to call too many men on the Flyers. I thought Torts was going to blow a gasket. He was pissed.

Historically deadline acquisitions have been good for depth players but not super impactful towards winning the cup. Usually teams get a nice piece but nothing front and center to get them to the cup. If I were Eric Tulsky I'd be on the hunt for a piece that can fit with the team long term, considering especially all our capspace we'll have next year (and considering I doubt we'll buy one of the premier free agents if Marner or Rantanen get there).
If I had to pick a guy, I'm picking Ryan O'Reilly as I piggybacked on someone else's post earlier this week. He'd be a massive 2C upgrade.
Oh lookie at this, more controversy in the Big Apple
I was with you until Toronto.Watched a replay of the Cats-Oilers game the other night. A sloppy game but quite entertaining.

Yep, definitely reads like someone in the social media dept was caught doing more than just having dinner with a player. That's the kind of reaction I would have expected from Carolina over Ian Cole.
A PR person having dinner with a player before the season? Unless there's a hell of a lot they're not telling us, that's a slap on the wrist and a memo to the organization. Not segregating staff on road trips to a separate hotel.
I think Tripp gets his best information from the hotel lobby and coffee bar.
Still, you fire that person, you don't make it impossible for the entire department to do their work.Yep, definitely reads like someone in the social media dept was caught doing more than just having dinner with a player.
