more of a boston thing... I know plenty of boston sports fans who don't give a crap about hockey and are the same as bruins fans, or worse
We were there a few weeks ago.
These are a people whom, in one breath thank us for bringing out our Tank, displaying it, letting people see it, and how cool it is that all the stuff on it works and is real, etc, and in the next sentence say that we shoudn't be allowed to own it, and freak out that the breech is live and it has (gasp) real guns on it. Then get annoyed when their kid isn't allowed to crawl around on it like it's the town fire truck.

I love the Collings foundation site, but my god do I hate the crowd at that show.

A buddy of mine has played the Sharks this season … he said it’s the worst NHL team he’s ever played against.

5-1 loss incoming?

Guaranteed. If you're a betting man, put everything you have on the Sharks, because tonight is the trappiest trap game that ever trapped.

A winless Sharks at home on a back-to-back situation? The only way this could be more of a trap game is if Svech plays tonight

Calgary is going to hand Hanifin and Lindholm big money deals to go with the other long term deals that will seal their fate in mediocrity for a long time. Sadly they would be better off if their former GM took the younger players package we offered
A top four and arguably top pair D and their best center being signed is a bad thing for them? These are good players and they’d be dumb to let them go unless the contracts are out of whack. You take your ex Canes things pretty far, this one doesn’t make sense. Both guys have become pretty high end players.

If you’re just against the Kadri and Hubie deals, letting these two go because of those two deals makes zero sense at all.

While fine players, it’s what they have and it isn’t working. Instead of trying to get younger and trying to fix their issues they will continue down the path of using aging players on bad contracts (which Lindholm, at a minimum will become) that will be just enough for 7-11th in the west but not good enough to be serious contenders or draft high ranking talent

You don’t know that they’ll never be good enough. STL’s roster didn’t look good enough to me a few years ago. In today’s game you set your core by whatever means you can, then build around it. Telling fans they have to wait three or four years of suck and hope you draft another top center instead of just paying Lindy doesn’t make a lot of sense for them. They don’t want to rebuild. A top two center combo of Lindy and Kadri is competitive and much of the league would say it’s just as good as Aho/Koko. They have a core of a solid team, burning it to the ground doesn’t fit them. I would think their first option is keeping their best players who are still comfortably in their primes. Lindy and Hanifin are young enough to build around, and aren’t easy to replace.

I understand they don’t want to rebuild, as the press conference said they aren’t allowed to use the word rebuild. They can do it but it isn’t likely to end well.

STL roster was bad and is still bad. Using an almost unheard of post Christmas run as a reason to keep going, is playing with really bad odds. But maybe Calgary can flip heads 20 times in a row too.

Interesting. Heading into that season I saw St Louis much like I view us this year. Lacking star power but crazy depth all over the ice and the best defense in the league on paper that year. They were my pre-season pick to win the West that year (I had Tampa winning the Cup, lol on how THAT turned out).

Well you’re the OG for a reason my friend!

I didn’t think they had enough up front. I don’t know that I think we do either but I do think Bunting is a positive addition.

You mean like our unheard of post Xmas run in Rod’s first season? Yeah that never happens.

Anyone can win the cup, you just need to make the playoffs. Calgary can catch fire and make the playoffs, and once in you never know. Add an unexpected rookie, develop some chemistry, hot goalie, stay healthy….no reason they can’t go on a deep run.

Trending such that a record may be broken.

Is resting stars more frequently next due to age and minor aches and pains? I am surprised it doesn't happen more throughout the season rather than just right before the playoffs.

if ottawa gets hit with the rumored 1st round penalty (I doubt it will be that high) for the Dadanov debacle, we’ll pick one pick higher. Supposed to find out that situation soon

Thanks a lot. I lost my house because of your guarantee.
