I realize Tavares won’t be coming back after next season, or if he does it’s a big drop off in AAV. But if I had to pick an elite wing to pay with Matthews, I’d pick Marner over Nylander easy.

Do they think because Tavares is likely done as an elite C they have space to pay Matthews + Marner + Nylander?

I guess. They will have 21 million to fill a lot of holes. 1 top 6 winger, 1 top 9 winger, 2 top 4 forwards, a goalie plus serviceable depth throughout.

Not NHL related, but I see @MrazeksVengeance your boys BOOTED Canada from the WJC U20 early!!!! And seeing as how they almost beat the USA in the round robin, I think they could have a chance this year. It's gonna be a slog - FIN started off awful but have really picked it up as the tournament's gone on, SWE has been a typical contender, USA has been very jekyll/hyde from minute to minute, and CZE takes out CAN after a pretty strong overall tournament.

Fun game between the caps and devils- neither team had very good goaltending. The guy for the caps had what almost looked like the confederate flag on his mask. Probably not his intention but probably not his intention to let in 6 either
