Second Player Rumored To Be Headed To Kings From Jets In Dubois Trade
The Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets are working hard to facilitate a trade involving Pierre-Luc Dubois and there seems to be a number of pieces involved. Heading back to the Jets could be Alex Iafallo, Gabe Vilardi, and more, but along with Dubois, Ken Wiebe notes that he expects one more player to head over to Los Angeles, Jansen Harkins.
The Kings are going to be close to the cap when all is said and done and they need some value players to fill their depth. Wiebe also notes that Harkins posted big numbers with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL last season and the 26-year-old is on a one-year, $850,000 deal that is a one-way.
He has more than 150 games of NHL experience and there just wasn't much room for him last season with the Jets, so he thrived in the AHL. After putting together a strong season and still getting 22 games in the NHL in 2022-23, Harkins' confidence should be high.

Sometimes it's really awkward, sometimes it's just, "hey Torey, we're trying to get Hayes, and Philly is asking about you. Is that something you'd be at all interested in?"

Impossible to know the dynamic unless you're in that conversation. Not that that's ever stopped anyone from speculating.
Money aside, if you are in the back half of your career do you want to go to a less desirable city and play for a sure to be train wreck in Philly plus play for Torts? I wouldn't.

Doesn’t help that it was frankly a worse series then the ECF despite going one game longer.
Yeah, I personally only watched games 1 and 5 in full. After game 1, the outcome was obvious, and then I watched game 5, because I do always like to watch the Cup get awarded. Only bits and pieces of the others because life was happening and I wasn't going to carve out time to watch them when the outcome was so certain.

Karma for pulling this bullshit soccer-worthy dive that drew a penalty against the Canes in the 2020 playoffs?

I'm still pretty f***ing pissed about that series, even moreso than 2018-19 Conf Finals. That flop, the complete nonsense "goal" in game 1 where it was clearly covered but even if you argued it wasn't covered than it was a clear handpass, and McAbitch yanking Staal's helmet off right in front of a ref with no call and forcing him to skate to the bench.

Remember all the hype when Taylor Hall first broke into the league. I mean he is a perfectly solid player he was every where. Doing NHLN spots from his kitchen. Was a sure fire next "whoever" in truth he's just a solid middle of the road player

Hall feels to me like he could be on the verge of deteriorating. Doesn't really hurt Chicago if he does, but a pretty good guy to have around their new #1 pick since he lived it. And if he does raise his value back up, Chicago can easily pull a pump and dump trade off.

Well, he did win a Hart trophy. I think after that he had a big knee injury or something and was never quite the same.

Looks like it's Hall going to Chicago. Guy just can't escape teams with #1 overall picks.
still undefeated in the draft lottery.

but seriously, why the ever loving hell would he agree to go to that shit show? and I mean that one in particular when there are other shit shows in low tax states he could go to instead.

The bar for value for wingers (non-premium position) is still high.

Someone made the point on the trade board about Garland and Boeser, names outside fans have linked to this team. Neither have positive value in this environment. Wheeler will probably be given away if there's any demand for him.

lol "love" the cited fan comments, ie needed Rangers, Devils, Toronto, Edmonton, etc. to draw ratings.

Florida/Vegas aside, if you put games exclusively on cable you get lower ratings.
So they're saying Rangers, Devils, Maple Leafs, and Oilers fans are fair-weather hockey fans and only watch when their team is involved?

I mean..... yeah, that's exactly what is going on

The league does absolutely f***-all to market anyone who isn't an elite star or teams that aren't in big markets. Dundon had to front the cost of the Stadium Series for the NHL to even consider playing a showcase game here, and we're currently one of the top 5 teams in the league for at least the 3rd year straight.
