Obviously, we need to close out this current series, but of all the teams remaining Tampa scares me the most. If we can get by them, (and that's a big, big if) I like our chances against Edmonton, Colorado, or St. Louis. We have a suffocating team defense and our goaltending is absolutely going ham this postseason. If our scoring can wake up at all, we very well could be the best and most complete team remaining.

But please, for the love of god, win tomorrow night.
Agreed. Colorado is very good on paper, Edmonton has the 2 best players in the playoffs, and the Blues are absolute warriors who have a recent Cup win too. But if show we are able to beat Tampa I would have absolute confidence in us to win it all. Very skeptical about our odds against Tampa though, hope we can close out this series tomorrow and then at the very least give Tampa a real run for their money.

The problem with the kicking motion rule is there's new facets being applied to it every time it comes up. There was one earlier this year that was called a good goal because the kicking motion is apparently determined by the knee flexing.

That rule and goaltender interference need to be clearly defined in this upcoming off-season, because no one has any idea what the rule is. Including, apparently, the officials.
Agreed 100%. I’ve watched that replay a few times and for the life of me I can’t figure out how they concluded it was clear and convincing that it was a distinct kicking motion.

If/when the Hurricanes close out the Rags. Do you guys and gals think the little bit of extra rest helps or hurts TB? I think some teams perform better with little downtime, helps them stay in a rhythm, other teams will gladly take all the rest they can get, especially if they've got a few banged up players.

Maybe you hope Vashi comes in a little rusty for game 1, maybe? TB is such a veteran squad at this point, I imagine the extra days of rest helps them more than it could hurt.

"let connor win"
It's ridiculous to suggest that the League would "help" a singular hockey player to win.

Let me assure you that Mr. McDavid being on the roster of one of the teams has absolutely zero to do with the result of the game that causes the playoffs games go further on in this beautiful brand-new tax-payer-paid state-of-the-art sports shrine.

They are a veteran team, so I think the rest helps them more than it hurts. In comparison, the year we went to the conference finals in 18/19 the sweep we had over the Islanders hurt us as we had a bunch of guys that were just too new to the playoffs and we looked rusty against Boston.

You're right. It's a mystery, for sure.

I would've preferred we swept the Rags or won in 5. Main reason is it gives Point less time to heal up. I think them getting Point back sooner and him missing as little time in the next series would outweigh any potential rust. And there likely won't be a ton of rust anyways being as they are a veteran squad who has done this like a half a dozen times now

I would have preferred that we won in 3 and the TB bus got hit by a tornado.
