This is just nasty.

Went older, and exactly half the production this year. Why isn't the media talking about this like the Hall - Larsson trade??

The Flames bought into the 115 point season as some kind of norm.

But to me it's just another example of an Eastern superstar brought to the West and failing to adjust. Playing in Florida is nowhere the same as playing in Calgary.

That and Sutter should've been left out in the pasture where he belonged.

This is funny reading in Eric Francis post mortem of the Flames last night

"Yep, the Flames now need the outrageously deep and talented defending champions to fold to have a marginal shot at bridging the six-point gap between them.

The odds are better Sutter will take all the media out for dinner."

Those are some thousand yard stares.

Tanev thinking "this grape flavored Big League Chew bubble gum is f***ing awesome."

Toffoli puts his hand up questioning where everyone is going since there's usually another 5 minutes of OT when they play. Coleman then tells him "we have to be tied first, dumbass", after the camera pans left.

Yup, saw that.

Hoisted on their own petard

They're left to battle it out with Detroit over that last and final golden ticket to the lottery. The bottom 9 is pretty much set with St. Louis in 24th and at 59 points. Detroit is either two points up two points behind Calgary...depending on how you want to look at it .

They should have sold and gone for bedard.

They went all in with Nick Ritchie. As I just replied to Oilhawks, they're dangerously close to a lottery ticket.

Hah, also on there is someone trying to shoehorn in the Oilers by saying that Nurse’s contract is worse than Huberdeau’s. Is it really though? $10.5M for a low end 2nd line production PP specialist soft winger vs $9.25M for a #2 that plays like a #3 at times…hmm

Oh the nurse contract is bad. But Huberdont? That takes the cake. He’s already on the downside of his career. That contract is going to sink right to the bottom of the ocean

Yeah that guy had some posters saying that Nurse is at least doing what is expected.

For a fan base who vilified Oilers’ fans for wanting to purposefully tank for draft position, there are a lot of Flames’ fans calling for their team tank for Bedard. Ironic.

There is a particularly obsessed poster (seems that every post has to have something to do with the Oilers) that was saying they “deserve” Bedard for the Oilers being “gifted” 4 first overalls or something. Big Yikes.

Another poster trying to joke that the reason Moneypuck still has them at 46% to make the playoffs is because that’s the chances they overcome the 10 point gap between them and the Oilers. Cringe. I guess if they win out the season and the Oilers start Campbell for the rest? Lol

I think our teams our destined to meet again in the playoffs. Looking forward to another fun series between the Kings and Oilers.
