I agree it's probably unfair but it sounds like what lawyers would tell them to say. Guys that weren't there were more than happy to clear their names.It is unfair to say cooperating with authorities implies guilt here. You can dig into the rumor mill on this deeply, but ~10 players have direct knowledge of the incident in question... cooperating could simply be the guys who noped the F out of there and are simply giving testimony.
If someone released an official statement to say he wasn't involved then he gets convicted it will look really bad. Much more so than the "cooperating" statement.
We'll see anyway.
