It is unfair to say cooperating with authorities implies guilt here. You can dig into the rumor mill on this deeply, but ~10 players have direct knowledge of the incident in question... cooperating could simply be the guys who noped the F out of there and are simply giving testimony.
I agree it's probably unfair but it sounds like what lawyers would tell them to say. Guys that weren't there were more than happy to clear their names.

If someone released an official statement to say he wasn't involved then he gets convicted it will look really bad. Much more so than the "cooperating" statement.

We'll see anyway.

I'd say it is categorically unfair. In that list though, almost all of them have said they have cooperated with authorities at one point or another. Naturally they all have been included in this investigation. Including guys like Fabbro, Makar, Comtois, etc.

"I was not involved in any way. I was totally unaware of the allegations until I — along with the rest of the team — was contacted by investigators in the weeks following the event in London. I met in person with the investigators in the summer of 2018 and answered all their questions. I did not know any of the details until I saw the article this week," Makar said in a statement provided to CBC.

Makar cooperated with investigators, and he clearly states the whole team has been.

Oh! I know that all the players cooperated with the investigation...but all the others said they weren't involved in their statement except 3 of them + Formenton.

My point wasn't that they were possibly involved because their were cooperating, I said that because that's all they said in their statement.

Still seems pretty unfair on the situation, especially given we know some of them are not being completely forthright in those statements. ~10 players (possibly 1 more) have direct knowledge of it, 8 were implicated in a lawsuit, and 5 here are likely to face discipline. There are a few that can be cleared via location pretty easily, then it gets really murky. IMO best to just let the process play out instead of playing the guessing game of who is guilty or not without evidence.

The 5 players that are guilty should obviously be in trouble. The extra 5 should be too.
When the authorities finally get to the end of it, they will.

On a different note, I read a bit into this whole Booktok things and....

One of the players still not having a contract is a pretty dead giveaway. The other dead giveaway is the player that for some reason didn't sign a contract with his team last year and is playing in Europe now. The other 3 are a little less obvious.

It's a good thing we have terrible social media. If our team of dreamboats got introduced to booktok then god knows what would have happened.

Lost this guy last night. My heart is crushed. Only 9 (not young, certainly) but just came out of nowhere. They weren't even going to perform the emergency surgery but went along with it. He made it through surgery only to pass away about 36 hours after due to complications. Guy is/was resilient as f*** though. He's had about 9 surgeries over the years for various freak type stuff (like the hematoma that left his right ear to lay down due to scar tissue) and is tough as nails. One of the best looking animals I've ever owned. And he absolutely ruled these mountains. RIP my good boy.

That's terrible, it always comes so suddenly. German Shepherds are great dogs, wicked smart and with big personalities.

Gadjovich: agent said he wasn't involved
Howden: said he wasn't involved
Katchouk: said he's cooperating with authorities
Kyrou: Said he wasn't physically there
Makar: Said he wasn't involved/not aware
McLeod: Said he's cooperating with authorities
Mete: Said he wasn't physically there
Steel: Agency said he's cooperating/not involved
Steenberg: Said he wasn't involved

Timmins: said he wasn't involved

We've got 4 (likely) and another one of them is lying.

I remember some of the players on the team said something like they didn't engage in any wrongdoing. Which is different than saying they weren't involved. Dube in particular had some long rambling quotes that didn't actually say he wasn't involved.

But we've been over this so many times. The truth will come out one day. And if someone isn't outright lying they've definitely made misleading statements to the fans to make it sound like they weren't involved.

Less of a role for Nicholson and possibly Holland while having someone McDavid is very close with running the team is a smart move on paper.
