Official 2024-25 Utah HC Season Discussion.

LOB showed Crouse how to do it. He woke Crouse up. Then Doan made sure that Crouse didn't nod off again.

It would be great if Crouse could be the source of energy and physical assertiveness on his line. But he isn't and maybe he never can be. He just mirrors the energy of his linemates.

Maccelli I agree.....

Crouse was still contributing in other places when it wasn't on the score sheet. But he also got snake bit with all the "near misses" he had and it got in his head. Took sitting out a few games for him to realize it.

His hit totals are way down and he was removed from the top PK units. He had a terrible year across the board.

Assuming they grab another two pts that’s a 16% improvement from last season. Which was a 10% improvement over the season before. Which was a 23% improvement from the season before.

Going from 57 to 70 to 77 to 89 is a very good thing.
I thought last year Utah should have had more points, and make the playoffs this year, but overall I guess a guy can't be too mad. Utah is in a very tough conference.

Stop sugar coating Crouse's play this year. He was crap plain and simple. Why AT only sat him out one game and continued to sit Maccelli is beyond me, only to play Carcone and Yamamoto is a head scratcher.

Yet BA praised him because Crouse had to adapt to a different role this year. Maybe the coach couldn't, wouldn't or plain out didn't know how to put Crouse and Maccelli in a position to succeed. But at the end of the day, it's most times the player's fault for shitty the bed. To be honest a couple of others shit the bed as well. We will need all players hitting on all eight next year to make the playoffs.

Not sugar coating him Jakey.... I watched him play. Unlike you I don't measure everything by a stat sheet.

Not before January he wasn’t. For the entirety of 2024 he was not only not producing but he was also lousy at everything else that has made him valuable previously. We’ve seen some glimmers of hope in 2025. I don’t think he’ll have another year as bad as 2024. Not until his final season in the league anyway. But he was not good in any way shape or form in 2024.

Going back to the original Winnipeg Jets and their first NHL season in 1979-80 (45 seasons ago) - UHC's cutrent 89 points is the 9th most points this team (WPG, ARI, UHC) has ever had.

A .549 P% is a 4-way tie for the 7th best percentage over that same span.

If they beat STL tomorrow and end up with 91 points and a .554 P% it changes to 6th best all-time for both stats.

This is a top 10 season! Could end up almost being in the top 5 with a win tomorrow. Crazy just how bad the WPG/ARI teams have all mostly been over the years.

Well we can agree to disagree on this one.

In most of those 45 seasons the league didn't award points to losers.

A better way to compare is win %, which is currently .469. In the era of ties, I'd count half of them as wins.

Back in the Jets days we had to deal with Calgary and Edmonton too. Even when we had the Fab 4 we couldn't get past Edmonton.
