Unless his safety is immediately in danger, I’m sorry but words on the internet are just that. I mean f*** look how we talk to each other, twitter, Facebook. Just mind numbingly thin skinned.

Im probably gonna catch heat for that post. IDC come work in my industry and I’m sure half the world would go home crying every nitr
Two wrongs don't make it right.

The more we normalize people being assholes to each other, the worse things will become. You don't have to curl up into a ball, but you have to call these things out as a society.

We can't keep going down this path of anger and divisiveness. It didn't used to be like this. We have to find a way to reverse course somehow and it starts with calling these things out.

We’ve always been assholes to one another. We just have the ability to do it way more easily. We have allowed our selves to be programmed.

probably one of my all time favs

Throughout my life as each decade has gone by, we've become more tolerant, and kind to one another. In the last decade things have gone in the other direction for the first time in my life.

In addition, we used to be able to disagree with one another on the substance of ideas. Now there's very few things we can have civil disagreements on.

We're much less capable of handling our emotions now and that's been exploited by politicians and adversaries. That emotion has shut down our rational thinking, and fear and anger are driving too much of our thoughts and beliefs. Social media is a big part of it, but it's not going anywhere.

The only way we're gonna keep this from getting worse and worse and eventually erupting into something very bad, is if the adults in the room put their foot down, and start calling out shitty behavior, instead of normalizing it.

If we just accept it as normal, it only empowers shitty people, to keep being shitty to one another. I shudder to think what it will be like decades from now if we don't get our act together.

You know what would be cool? If they somehow came up with a Toews extension out of the blue. For a reasonable price.

It's because the Earth's vibrational frequency is changing. One symptom of that is the core stopped spinning.

I don't think it's out of the question on a long term deal. It's going to be very interesting what they end up doing on defense. So many different ways they can go.

Like what if they flip Girard for Pesce to get bigger with the plan of re-signing Pesce, and then losing Toews? That would be pretty out of left field too, but the RD/LD balance is kind of weird right now.

LA is going to be a bitch to get through next year, and they may be able to play in the same way that a mediocre goalie will do.

They're going to play Edmonton again in the 1st round and McDavid/Draisaitl are going to annihilate whatever scrub goalie they decide to go with this year once again.

I don't know why Los Angeles thinks the path to winning is getting trash goaltenders. Especially when you know you have to go through 97 and 29 at some point.

Not if they shut them down like we did.

Sorry, but both those dudes are soft as butter. Against PLD, Danault, and Kopitar. Where do they go for soft matchups?

We're going to have to make all three of those centers hurt, and we actually have the centers to do it. We'll see if we have the D. Girard is not cutting it in the top four against Vegas or LA next year.

LA, COL, and Vegas next year, whoever wins beats the shit out of whoever comes out of the East.

Like a buttery grilled cheese sandwich. Speed, size, and defense. I do think we might have the edge offensively.

What is Detroit even doing? Yzerman is probably so jealous of the Killorn contract in Anaheim he must have wanted that one badly

I mean back to back years they have dominated Kopitar/Danault. The Kings haven't had an answer at all. Sure, they got PLD but they sent away two guys who were two of the only forwards doing anything last series in Vilardi and Iafollo.

Until they get someone above average I have no reason to believe Los Angeles can beat Edmonton.

I think PLD will be their 1C by the end of the year. So I should throw that down.

We'll see, but Edmonton still isn't getting by us or Vegas.

If PLD is the 1C then L.A is in even worse shape than I thought. He's a 2C through and through.

Edmonton IMO should have beaten Vegas, they just got utterly disastrous goaltending from Stuart Skinner (seriously, go look up his stats. They were some of the worst in playoff history for a goalie getting that far) and they are bringing back largely the same team, just swapping out lower end depth pieces.

To me, they are our biggest threat because I don't believe for one second Adin Hill is a capable starter in this league and goaltending is going to be Vegas' detriment next season.

We'll see, I see more potential. Been watching him say how much he wanted to play like Kopitar growing up. Over, and over on NHLN. Kopitar, and learning from him is the reason he chose LA.

Good luck if he breaks out lol.

Lost in 7 games without Doughty in 2021-2022.

Lost in 6 games in 2022-2023 because they contrived to blow a 3-0 lead in Game 4 when they were up in the series 2-1.

I would hardly say that's domination.

Oilers were somewhat fortunate to come out ahead in both of the series, you could easily argue a 1:1 series split would be fairer.

Oilers were lucky to win both of the series? If they were lucky what does that make L.A as the losers?

The Oilers controlled the play against Los Angeles in all but 1 game this past series. It should have been over in 5 games if Stuart Skinner could stop a puck.

The Oilers were toying with the Kings at times in the series.

If Oilers controlled play as you said throughout the entire series (they did dominate in a couple of the games, but I thought the other 4 were pretty even from my recollection), then how does a top shelf goalie magically help LA? Wouldn't you want to strengthen the spine of the team instead?

Oilers were lucky Markstrom crapped the crease in 2021-2022 in order to even get to the conference finals where they had the privilege of being swept by us, and Vegas kept them at arm's length in the series last season, rushing off to a 2-0 and dominating in Game 6 without much push back by the Oil.

The Oilers averaged 4 goals per game against the Kings in the 1st round series. You don't think there's a goaltending problem here? The year before that they averaged 3.85.

Colorado in 2022 vs St. Louis averaged 3.66 goals. Vs Tampa Bay they averaged 3.5. They obviously torched Nashville and Edmonton even though the Oilers still scored 3.25 goals per game against us in the Conference Finals.

The Oilers can score. They were the far better team than L.A in the 1st round. At 5v5 (where the Oilers did the least of their damage) they had the higher corsi, more scoring chances, and more high danger chances. Then when you factor in how their PP completely obliterated the Kings' PK?

The Kings don't stand a chance against Edmonton until they find someone that can stop a puck.

Why is David Poile considered a successful GM? The guy was a GM for 2 million years, the most he’s done is one final appearance where his team didn’t win, and left Nashville in shitty situation before stepping down this year

Columbus and Minnesota entered the league at the same time with the same parameters and have had much less success.

I wonder what the Leafs will do know. They are something like 2 mil over the cap even with Muzzin on the LTIR, and Samsonov isn't signed yet. They would have to move Murray and hope Samsonov signs for cheap, but I don't think he will sign for that cheap. He shouldn't.
