The Nucks are also playing with an insane shooting percentage to start the year. Who knows if that will last, or how they adjust when their puck luck falls off
Their team shooting percentage is higher than the 80s Oilers. Sometimes unsustainable trends last a full season; think we’re all too familiar with that given the 13-14 team but it’s rare

Thats why I said right now. Nucks wont be able to sustain this but I can easily see Pettersson, Hughes and Demko having better seasons than Mackinnon, Makar and George.
Demko vs George seems like almost a given. He’s a good goalie whose been playing behind a terrible defense. Also as good as Parkilla is, Ian Clark is better

Petey vs Mack will be interesting and could go either way.

Would still take healthy Makar over healthy Hughes but Hughes is definitely better than 60-80% Makar like it seems we’re going to keep getting for a while

How do Bruins win with a center line of Zacha, Coyle, Poitras, Beecher?

Oilers and Bruins are a study in contrast for the 'Center depth is everything, Wingers and Goaltending aren't that important' debate.

Boston - Terrible center depth, great wingers, good defense, great goaltending - 2nd in NHL

Edmonton - Among best center depth in NHL, ok wingers, bad defense, bad goaltending - 31st in NHL

Let's not forget that before the Crosby/Malkin cups the most important position was goaltending. It's still subject to change.

Would be nice if the Canucks wouldn't pull a Tampa and choke.

I would add a great system with the personnel they have lead by one of the best coaches in hockey. In Edmonton they have Woodcroft.

It probably won't but Pascal was dealt an awful hand to start his NHL head coach career.

Remember that he's only there because of the Babcock fiasco and he doesn't have a lot of options.

This is similar Bednar when he took over for Roy at the last minute but with a much worse team and a GM with one foot out the door. That's terrible.
Oh I dunno, that Avs team was MUCH worse.

And to be fair to Vincent they’re basically telling him to rule with an iron fist. Still don’t think it’s the right approach though.

McDavid is either playing hurt or he’s just tired of being an Oiler. He looks like a completely different player out there. He’s not even cherry picking anymore

Oooh, now Jay Woodcroft exiting early in order to get a head start on filing for unemployment. You also hate to see it.
