If we are talking about "for the good of the game" there's no spectator, especially casual fans, who want to see a goal overturned because 45 seconds earlier some some player's skateblade was a millimeter offside and you could only see it when slowed down to a frame a second and 10x zoom on a shitty camera. Especially when you have to wait 5 minutes for them to fivure it out.

It would still be a headline and a talking point that would end up getting changed. I agree logically… but say Toronto loses game 7 of a cup because of it, Toronto may cease to exist.
I think Toronto would burn if the inverse was true. If they lost the cup after having a goal disallowed after a lengthy review for a marginal call.

I think both benches went full Boondock Saints..."And Shepherds we shall be. For thee, my Lord for thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti"

I don’t think anybody disagrees, just the method of getting to reducing the challenges is the question.

I also like the time passed ideas. The clear possession by the defending team (or the variant of two players from defending team having possession).

We need less reviews not more. I hate that they want to keep adding. It is pure nonsense and it is hard to stop the snowball halfway down the mountain.

Both are probably true.

Fair comments. Maybe a combination of less scrutiny on the offsides, and harsher punishment for calling for a review.

Edit: I could also advocate for returning to only getting one review, and maintaining the penalty if you're wrong.

Avs remaining schedule is really tough. Kucherov or McDavid will probably beat MacK for the Ross. They also have game or games in hand. MacK will win the Hart though

I imagine MacK will get the career treatment a bit for the Hart. Meaning when equal or close to the others in a writers mind, he’ll gather those votes over Kuch and McDavid. Which should put him over the top.

IMO, there would be a lot less offsides with the player in the OZone and the puck still on the other side of the line. Wouldn't be near as many challenges, especially with half the puck on the BL and the players skate 1" over the line.
The players would adjust very quickly to the extra space and it would just end up at the same spot in time. Teams tend to use all the space available to them. Just like how systems adjusted to when they moved the blue line back. It may take a few months, but it would happen. There is also the visibility problem with that where it adds instead of subtracts ambiguity.

IMO forcing teams to be completely sure or face serious consequences is the best way to lessen them. If you have to kill off a 5v3 or 4 minute power play, you’re really going to think about that challenge and want to be sure. As odds are pretty good you’re giving up a goal.

I refuse to believe that there's no technology out there that could determine if the puck crossed the goal line or if there's an offside.

I feel like Dermy could've won that more definitively.
I think that Lucic fight f***ed MacDermid up. I think he is gunshy after the way he got caught in that fight. Seems like he might be a little scared of getting countered again. He does not have the technique or understanding of how to fight well enough to avoid getting hit like that again.

Yeah, he does not seem to be the same after getting knocked out by Lucic.

I have never been hit in the head. Only slapped a few times by women. I don't even know how it feels to be punched in the face.

Fighting outside of your weight class isn't good

Also one day we'll have to revisit that Jeannot trade and stop acting like it didn't happen.

TNT Intermission team has Henrik Lundqvist rank the top 10 likely WC playoff teams goaltenders.

Georgiev îs #9. Only Cam Talbot is lower.
Seems about right…

Although how are there 10 goalies where only 8 teams will make the playoffs? Is he ranking the backups too?

I’d rank the WC playoff team starters….

Hellebuyck
Saros
Demko
Hill
Skinner
Oettinger
Georgiev
Talbot

But I can switch Georgiev with Oettinger and have no issues with it

I refuse to believe there's technology out there that awarded Kucherov an assist on TB's 4th goal after the game was over. Like does he get the assist for getting tangled with 25 Timmins and the puck goes off Timmins right to the TB defender?
