Really depends on Andersen's health. If he's out for the season, I could see them claiming Samsonov since his contract is up at the end of the year.Carolina hates paying for goaltending so unless Toronto is retaining half there's not a chance it happens. I wouldn't really put a whole lot on Samsonov turning his game around either. He's always been this roller coaster of a goalie which is why the Caps moved on. If the Canes are making a goalie move it has to be a good one with not much gambling involved. Samsonov is quite the gamble.
Carolina also doesn't like paying for rentals either, which is exactly what they'd have to do if Andersen isn't coming back. With so many teams needing an upgrade in goal, I doubt they get someone that's better than Samsonov anyways.
