Imagine they have some meeting like the board of governors but for coaches, and the staff at the place is like "Yeah, it was a bald guy with glasses."

"Doesn't narrow it down."
That's why the Avs hired Bednar. That beautiful bastard has vision! He doesn't need no stinking glasses.

Now, he just needs to work on getting that vision reinstalled in this current locker-room.

Tough blow for tJets. That puts him out till sometime in February

I see it differently. It could have been season over entirely judging by the reaction. He'll be back to help them squeak into the playoffs and limply lose their first round series.

I sure hope we never become the Pens. Please pull the plug on this core before doing this.
I think the Avs are on the same downhill street just alot sooner on that street whereas the Pens are damn near the bottom of that downhill. The one thing the Avs got going for them is that Makar, Byram and Girard are still younng. Assuming they keep all 3 thats not bad. I dont know the average age of the Pens blueline. 34? . Another reason why Avs should be all in every season that Mikko, Makar and Mackinnon are here. No more of this Lars Eller shit.

Go all-in then SELL to recoup all your assets and kickstart a fast rebuild. Once it's clear that we won't win the cup anymore everyone should be available, even Makar.

Nothing more depressing for a fanbase than being hopeless for any kind of championship for the next 10+ years because your farm is empty and your super old core is still good enough to prevent you from getting a top draft pick.

Ask @ABasin how advocating for that goes. My lord, even though he was right, the amount of crap he took over suggesting we should trade Sakic was incredible.

Honestly, I'd rather watch this core ride off into the sunset in this jersey than ever see them traded. I personally wouldn't have wanted to see guys like Sakic and Hejduk play in another jersey in exchange for being competitive sooner. From a cold-blooded strategic standpoint, the Pens made the wrong move not trading Crosby years ago, but ask any Pens fan if they would have wanted to see that happen in exchange for a quicker rebuild that may or may not even succeed. I'll bet if you posted a poll in the Pens forum asking that question the results would surprise you.

Rebuilds always happen eventually, and statistically, most of them don't ever result in a Cup win. There are too many teams in the league all going after the same thing, and only one team per year can win. If you think of it as "We should trade everyone and rebuild so we can become the next 2009 Chicago Blackhawks" it sounds obvious. But it's way more likely that you would trade everyone on the team and end up as the next iteration of the 2015 Predators. Not only do you need to suck, you need to suck in the right year. The difference between winning the draft lottery in 2015 and winning it in 2014 can ruin an entire decade for your team, and the Edmonton Oilers are all the proof you need that even the best draft luck imaginable isn't a guarantee of success.

Given the odds that any given rebuild is going to flame out, I'm comfortable with delaying ours until MacKinnon and Makar get their jerseys retired. Whether we start the process next year or 10 years from now, it's still more likely than not that we won't see another championship for decades. We got one with this core, I'm plenty happy with that achievement. It's more than most teams can say they've accomplished in the last 20 years.

To each their own I guess.

Personally I like to either have a chance to win a cup or watch a rebuild with young talent/follow the drafts, etc. Building is exciting too.

Watching old guys going nowhere is pointless.

I always wanted the Duke to play wing for Sidney Crosby.
