There are other red flags to DV. Punching, kicking, knifing, shooting, and back handed slaps. I don't mind a good front hand slap or, better, beating her with a bag of oranges

I’ve been watching the Seattle/Vancouver game since the Colorado/Dallas game ended, specifically Quinn Hughes. He’s without a doubt very gifted offensively, good vision and a great skater, but his defence is nothing to write home about. He gets manhandled in the corners and along the boards when guys close him off. I can’t remember who said it before, but he does seem very Karlsson-esque this year, still better than Erik in his own zone but I wouldn’t say elite

Anaheim and Philadelphia are better than I thought they'd be. Winnipeg also.

Thought Ottawa would be better than they are. Jersey, too.
 
Bruins are built around 2 elite wingers, a great dman and two great goalies. They have no legit center and are pretty old.

Yet they still dominate the league. It's all about culture and knowing how to win. They are the complete opposite of very talented teams that can't win, like the Sabres and Sens.

While I agree, I'm still surprised that the loss of Bergy and Krejci is not consequential (yet). Let's see if they maintain and/or not choke in the playoffs in Bruins fashion.

Going to be really interesting to see what happens with the Bruins in a few years once most of the players (other than Pasta and McAvoy) that played with Bergeron are gone. Curious to see how much of it is a full team culture and how much is is lasting effect of the leadership from Bergeron, Chara and Marchand
 
Considering that San Jose was willing to eat cap to get rid of EK I wonder if they would have done Toews and Manson for EK with retention.

Would that be better for the Avs for the next 3 years?

They specifically were not ready to do that. They ate like 1m, but didn't want to eat 3-4m which would've significantly improved their return.

And to answer your question, no it would not have been better lol.
