Flames fans slowly starting to come to the realization that just because certain players are young does not mean that they are any good.
Kinda like Oilers fans….

Huberdeau also takes the best shit any flame member ever has.almost as good as Sutter calling Huderdeau the "best passer the team has had"
the hyperbole is strong in CowtownSutter: 'Huberdeau is probably the best passer that this team has had'
Calgary Flames head coach Darryl Sutter has high praise for his new star winger."Jonathan Huberdeau is probably the best passer that this team has had, maybe ever," he told Sportsnet's Derek Willis. He may have a valid case, as Huberdeau led the league with 85 assists last season with the Florida...www.thescore.com
It was a pure panic move after Gaudreau walked for nothing, but I think it's also the decree of ownership to keep the gravy train going for as long as possible. To be fair they did just finish first in the division but there was no way they were going to be able to fully replace the outgoing players.I don't know what Brady Boy was thinking. Getting Huber signed for all that Dough before he even put his skates on was an incredibly stupid mistake. What a disaster! Don't imagine he's very happy playing for the team but at least away from the rink he's living like a king I suppose.
Buffalo calls up their undrafted free agent from Sherwood Park, Brandon Biro, and he scores two goals in his second NHL game.
Seems like the Oilers only sign the guys from the area who suck haha.

But they really should've exercised patience. Had the season played out the way it did with no extensions in place they could've gotten a significant haul for Weegar and Huberdeau at the deadline and jumpstarted a necessary rebuild.
But, well, here we are.
There's also a rampant belief among Flames brass that as long as you make the playoffs you can win the Cup. And while yes, this is technically true (look no further than '04), in a way it really isn't as well. Very rarely is the winner of a Cup a non-contender. And the few times the Flames have been a contender they got blown away unceremoniously. But I also believe that they're scared to do an Edmonton-styled rebuild for various reasons. It all stems from a desire for them to feel wanted. Trelving going on about how "pissed off" he was at the Calgary community taking a beating over everyone wanting to bail on them. This has carried on to the new management team as well where they were hellbent on resigning everyone up until about a day ago even though it defied any sort of logic or critical analysis.
By resigning those guys it was an exercise in “look everyone said nobody wants to be here now what!” Result of that thought process looks good on them.
Protection looks to be great, but from that angle it looks uncomfortable as heck.
Well Flames fans did say that Kadri and Hubie would be in the conversation for setting team records. Don't think this is what they had in mind though. Lol
Yeah, looks like the Oilers will be battling for a wild card spot at best. Top-3 in the Pacific is pretty much already out of reach with the starts Vegas, LA, and Vancouver have had (and the Oilers floundering).I don't know if we will be able to even get 4th in the pacific this year.
Sharks have a better chance of potting 10 against us.Ands the Canucks hit 10. I know the Sharks are awful, but does anyone think we could pot 10 goals against them?
Vancouver's numbers look wildly unsustainable, but we'll see. Like their start makes the Kraken last season look tame by comparison.Yeah, looks like the Oilers will be battling for a wild card spot at best. Depends are we playing our #1 PP late in the gameAnds the Canucks hit 10. I know the Sharks are awful, but does anyone think we could pot 10 goals against them?
The summer 2.0 of Tre showing the usual dividends.
