Huberdeau contract looking like an early buyout candidate.

IMG_4171.jpeg

Edit - no it ain’t. It’s essentially the old Lucic contract only 10x worse. Can’t buyout this deal.

Flames screwed the pooch with this one it certainly appears.

I’m getting worried with this losing streak they might actually sell players and try and not be mediocre anymore..
Yeah, I wanted them to sign Lindholm to 9 or whatever they originally offered him. His stock is going down.

I legit think Huberdeau is just depressed/unhappy. He wants no part of Calgary. Hearts not in it. He was smart to sign his contract though.

It's quite humorous reading the Flames fans posts on social media, they are long past the point of debating whether or not they will buyout Kadri and Poopie, it's come down to when is the best timing. They've even convinced themselves that the eventual buyouts aren't that bad.

Islands in the stream.
Stars bother to play one period, score 4 goals, win game. Whole Flames broadcast patting themselves on the back how good the Flames are and that they had Dallas on the ropes.

Stars biggest danger in this game was falling asleep. clearly they weren't up for this one.

Unfortunately Stars didn't play hard at all so they probably still have some juice tomorrow.

Always good to see Flamers lose.

The makeup of the team is completely off, it will take them forever to recover. Especially considering they can’t just accept they need to rebuild. I personally think it’s hilarious haha. They will hype up Zary for the next week in the media here (Calgary). It will distract the fans from the tire fire they actually are. They do this ALL the time.

I know it was a given before the season started, but there is now at least a small chance that the great Matt Coronato may not winner the Calder, Art Ross and Hart this year. ;)

Flames fans slowly starting to come to the realization that just because certain players are young does not mean that they are any good.

No chance in hell. Their owner won't let that happen and it doesn't matter because most of their "core" is locked up long term anyway and are immovable so they'll be mediocre by default.

That's the best thing about the Flames situation. Their record is horrible now but they're much better than their record indicates and aren't playoff worthy so they'll eventually settle in to like 8-10 games above .500 and comfortably in the mediocre zone.

Don’t worry about it, they’ll deal those players in the same form as the Toffoli trade so that they can tell themselves “look it was a hockey deal! We got a roster player with a very small degree of promise back!”

They’ll do whatever they can to not have to own the fact that there is nowhere to go for them but the bottom.

I still remember the Francis article after CGY beat them 10-0 or whatever in the pre season

"His shot is Brett Hull like" lol

Lol what?

Huberdeau buyout is the following...

7.9
7.9
10.4
10.4
7.9
10.4
5.9
then in the 2030s if the world hasn't imploded by then they have 904K dead cap for 7 more years. The buyout finally comes off the books as we near 2040 lmao and I doubt it gets much better if they wait a year or two. The delusion is strong in that town.

We complain a lot about the Nurse deal and rightfully so but it's not in the same stratosphere as the Hubie contract.
