One after the other

Fans want another
Yeah I noticed that too. Flames fans just expect PP's all the time, one after the other. Even after already getting benefit of weak calls.

lol that Flames threw everything they had which isn't much trying to get into this game. Punching yourself out to lose. lol2 at Coach trusting a player, Connor Zary, playing his first game than any of his players. Seemed like he was getting Connor Mcdavid shifts..

I was one of the very few people that thought that the loud and numerous claims that Huberdeau + Kadri >>> Gaudreau + Tkachuk was one of the most absurd things I’ve ever heard in hockey.

Textbook example of group think gone wild.
Kadri was coming off a career year in which he won a Cup and then priced himself out of the market like a tool. He might not see another playoff game again.

Ditto. I was laughing all day all year at Flames losing Their engines Gaudreau and Tkachuk. You never get that back in trade. Foolish to try. Flames ought to have gone rebuild, which they have to anyway somehow now with boatloads of contract overpays.

Huberdeau claimed he had “one of the best shots he’s ever seen.”
With a career high of 30 goals
That Brett Hull-esque shot must have missed the net whole crapload of times or maybe it was just that he was facing prime Patrick Roy in net like 50-60 times a year.

I've never seen a more delusional media when it comes to discussing Flames players and how amazing they are. Every year for I don't know how long they've been hyped to the moon.

“Huberdeau and Kadri are good players (deemed so at the time), but Tkachuk and Gaudreau were just the motor on one of the most successful 5v5 lines over the past 25 years. That’s going to be difficult to step in and match.”

That was the sober, logical view. However, that’s less fun than “summer of Brad! Cup contenders! Team is better now! He traded for them AND resigned them!”

With a career high of 30 goals

He was talking about Coronato, which makes it even more funny.

The media is insane in Calgary. They will hone in one player and have a circle jerk for weeks. It hypes up the fans, but even they are complete fan boys…I like to listen to 960 for a good laugh every now and then, but it gets so bad I have to switch off. Last season when they were officially eliminated from the playoffs they wouldn’t shut up about Coronato.

It’s almost as if they try to strum up these narratives which make no sense but keeps fans from remembering how shitty the team actually is.

It’s very bizarre to say the least lol.

TO fans are irate at all of those moves lol. Call Bertuzzi useless too

Somehow "The Wizard" got another job quickly after screwing CGY's future

Treliving is the Sam Pollock of making moves that have exciting names involved and are sexy to the untrained eye, but in reality aren’t that great and don’t often work out.

If you take a step back and look in hindsight at a lot of his big moves and they tend to look worse and worse over time.

Can’t believe how royally screwed the Sens are getting this year. 41 games for Pinto seems excessive, and we’ll never know for sure cause the League is hiding the details. Just like they hid the investigation into the Dadonov thing and hid whatever results of the Kane arbitration until the signing was made. Shady f***in League loves shitting on small Canadian franchises, whatever they can do to boost US franchises either directly or indirectly.

As an Oiler fan I wouldn’t gloat about what’s happening with the Sens, they are essentially Oilers East, if it could happen to them it’ll happen to us (it already has with multiple bullshit picks taken away from us with rules that ONLY applied to us).

I’m sure their fanbase is already pencilling Zary into the Hart discussion or some shit

Looks like I was right.

"Zary is our new 1C"

"I'm not even mad, the team looks good tonight"

"Entertaining game"

And other such delusional moral victory stuff. I'll give them this, they have endless optimism in the ranks, which is amazing considering the team hasn't really been relevant for 20 years outside of Calgary and the annals of TSN/Sportsnet's professional fluffing stations. Kudos, I guess.

(Edit: there are a lot that seem to think the season is already lost and the team lacks talent, but I was shocked by how many seem to think things don't look so bad)

Invoking Sam Pollock's name in any comparison with Treliving is heresy!! Repent good sir. Repent!!! :)

Sounds like the new ownership feels they got conned into inheriting the team with that baggage. Be interesting to see if they sue to reverse the sale.

the team has barely been relevant in Calgary too.

You wouldn’t know this city has a NHL team when they aren’t winning lots

I don't know what Brady Boy was thinking. Getting Huber signed for all that Dough before he even put his skates on was an incredibly stupid mistake. What a disaster! Don't imagine he's very happy playing for the team but at least away from the rink he's living like a king I suppose.

almost as good as Sutter calling Huderdeau the "best passer the team has had"
the hyperbole is strong in Cowtown
