9 games in and Vegas has a strangle hold on the division. Was dumb of the Oilers give Vancouver life.

Horrible to hear of his passing. Hopefully they push to make neckguards/wristguards mandatory, much like they changed the icing rules to prevent crashes into the boards that severely injured a few players at the start of the 2010s

Probably going to be some people in trouble behind the scenes too. Apparently took 5 minutes for a paramedic to get on the ice, and another 5 minutes for a paramedic with medical supplies to get out there. Probably could have been saved if they had adequate medical staff on site.

Holy shit, that's awful to hear. I seen something on social media that he had passed but it was from some random NHL Update site and didn't think it was credible so I didn't post it. But now it's been confirmed, that's so sad and awful.

How in the hell is medical staff not mandatory to be present and at ice level at hockey games. That likely made all the difference between life & death.

Can't believe there is a considerable amount of people online demanding manslaughter charges and saying the player intentionally did it. Like wtf?

There are so many leagues out there so I don't think it'll ever make it everywhere, but these guys really should be practicing this like a fire drill every so often to make sure they do have good response time.

The NHL has pretty thorough protocols to react to something like this. I want to say they even have a trauma surgeon at every game in case something like this were to occur.

Unfortunately the resources available to the NHL aren't in other leagues. Very unfortunate and very sad.
