My thoughts exactly.

I don't even think I'd be as perplexed if Lou said this, but a GM that's barely into his 50's?

Anytime I see the word identity in hockey anymore I feel like there’s some caveman in my presence.

Between that DUMB line name for the Islanders (Identity line lol) and then comments like this.

I just feel like a young nerd. It makes me feel younger than I really am.
“Our identity” struck me as hilarious too.

Their “identity” was they had several good defensemen but got way better when the Russian superstar came over.

They lost secondary scoring they really couldn’t afford to lose when they traded Fiala. Rossi didn’t break out and replace any of that production and the Jost reclamation project unsurprisingly failed too. So that’s a problem.

Jost only cleared out 2m but he was just claimed on the 19th. The cap space shouldn’t have a burned a hole in his pocket so quickly that he spent 1.75m on a guy that doesn’t help their top 6 or top 9 even a little.

Reaves also arguably makes a 4th line worse too, because he can’t keep up with anyone at this point.

I liked how Guerin cleaned housed in a locker room that needed it and the players seem to really like him but he definitely gets an incomplete on his team building.

The best thing he did was hire Judd Brackett after he was fired from Vancouver for getting too much praise. There was only room for one drafting genius when Jim Benning was there. (Jim Benning was supposed to be that genius, just to be clear.)

Their haul in the 3 drafts under Brackett has looked pretty great IMO.

At least Zuccarello keeps rolling at age 35 with 17 points in 18 games.

Only 4 of those points don’t have Kaprizov getting a goal or an assist but I must admit I thought his contract would have started looking uglier by now. He’s got another year at 6m but it could have gone way worse.

Apparently Kaprizov and Zucc are super close, Kaprizov sings lullabies to Zuch’s children over the phone. So if he somehow gets traded get ready for another player to cry about it. (Yes, I had no sympathy for that goalie getting weepie over Zucc because he was a Ranger and I’m a monster.)

I'm glad Salming got his day in Toronto before he passed. It was very sad to see him in that state.

yes. it was upsetting seeing him at the HHOF weekend like that....but also great to see him being acknowledged one last time.

...and it may seem like bad timing to say something like this at this time but ill say it...

pat burns and his family deserved better

What was this? It's gone.
JFresh tweeted something about hearing Bemstrom would be moved. But then also followed up with something along the lines of “I’m not an insider so don’t yell at me if it doesn’t happen”.

A lot of smoke in Horvat to Columbus, I’d imagine if there’s any truth to what he tweeted, Bemstrom likely part of any package.

By these standards, two of our goals against Toronto and both of the Sabres goals last night should have counted.
Both Sabres goals went in after the whistle last night, so no. If the whistle hadn't gone, your point would be valid.

There’s a multitude of factors to consider in those reviewed goals but I will never understand pushing a player into your own goalie.

Ah. I didn't see the mask come off. Watching postage stamp sized videos on a phone ain't that great for someone my age.
Do you have any idea how annoying it is to always have to provide context for senior citizens like you? Get some Las OC surgery grandpa. Or better yet shuffle into the common area of your assisted living facility with your walker and ask the nice attendant to put the game on next time. Honestly you broken down old timers are the bane of existence for young and with it people like me.

I actually just moved my father into a retirement community less than a year ago, and oh man the place is awesome. Indoor pool, multiple restaurants, gyms, theater... I can't wait till I'm old enough to move there.

Rangers fans wanting to trade for a new goalie after halak sucked for them when they have the goalie who almost caused them to lose in the 1st round in their system.:D

BRING ON THE DOM!
I laughed when they signed Halak. They are going to overplay Igor now. Wished they signed him for more than one season.

What's this? A Devils fan laughing at the Rangers league minimum 3rd or 4th string goalie?

At least they aren't banking on a career 3.00GAA / .900Sv% starter for another year?
Domingue sucks. Better hope nothing happens to Igor because Halak and him blow.

Who was the career .900% and 3:00 GAA goalie we were banking on as starter? Blackwood?

Well, in his career he is a bit better than that, but if he really wanted to trash him and speak some truth he should have said ''.892% over his last 55 games'', which I think is now .891% or .892% over his last 62 games.

I thought they only signed Halak because they planned to give Igor 60+ starts like a Saros/Hellebuyck type. Like how those teams sign guys like Rittich and Lankinen to be the backups or Elliott with Tampa, because they obviously don't plan on having to use those guys too much. I figured that's what Halak was all about.

Igor is on pace to play about 4 more games this year than last and get 7 more starts than he did last year, but still not quite 60 games. Almost though.

Not sure why that poster thinks this is an internet gotcha moment. I posted that when he was laughing at the Rangers signing a 3/4 goalie. Who.... has yet to play a game for the Rangers. And yes, I was referring to Blackwood, who at the time (and still) has a career GAA approaching 3.00 (2.93 currently, despite being slightly better this year) and who is currently posting a 2nd consecutive sub-.900 sv%. So it's not like it was tremendously far off to think this was worth saving for whatever moment this was for.
